@Eko:  that is so sweet.

My LO has always been a decent eater. This time of year there are more treats, of course, but she understands that she needs to eat her meal before she gets a treat. When she knows she's going to have something special she quickly eats her meal, a reasonable portion of all the healthy stuff, then picks up her plate and hands it to me and says, "I'm all done with my dinner mommy! Can I have my special treat now please?" She's not even 2.5. I think that's pretty great.

This is general but DS had his 6 month appointment yesterday and he kept smiling and laughing at the doctor. I told my mom this and she then proceeded to tell me how happy of a baby DS is and some of it can be genetic but our baby is so happy because I am such a great mom and his happiness is a reflection of how well I'm doing (and DH too!). While I'll take some credit it felt like a win that someone else acknowledged and complimented how hard I try at being a mom.

We are currently transitioning to 1 nap, so every day that we survive that, I am happy 😜 I'll think that it will be the death of me, but then he goes to bed and I realize we made it through the day relatively unscathed and I pour myself a glass of wine.

There is just so much bad and unspeakable news these days and I'm in desperate need for something positive. So I thought I'd start a thread where we can share our little parenting "wins".

When did you feel like a successful parent? The smaller the victory - the better!

Here's mine:
I have been trying several different tricks to keep my son dry overnight. I never seem to have any luck - but my whenever my husband is on night time diaper duty, he wakes up dry! So I had him teach me his tricks and when I got my son up for the day this morning he was dry! I finally did it! Hooray! :silly:
