@Corduroy: So glad he's ok, and that he took whatever it was seriously.

@Jess1483: I love this rule!

That's great! I'm often surprised at how often people ignore potentially dangerous symptoms.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I knew a girl in high school who had this. Hers was really bad and she would faint sometimes. She had supraventricular tachycardia. It's worth getting checked out. She has a pacemaker now. Edited to add: Don't want to scare you, hers is a particularly bad case and very rare.

@Corduroy: That's awesome! Whenever I cough DH wants to take me to the doctors, but he never wants to go! I would hope if it were something serious he would go too.

Scary! Glad he's ok!

I get worried about DH sometimes b/c he gets these weird episodes where his heart races for a long period of time. He saw our GP about it, and got prescribed pills to take when it happens, but we don't know what causes it! I want him to get a stress test and complete heart work-up and all that...

That's great! I think it's so easy to dismiss health concerns. My husband and I do have a deal, though, where we have to go see the doctor if the other asks us too. It's easier to go when we have a rule that we "have" to when our partner asks.

DH experienced some tightness in his chest yesterday. Much to my surprise he immediately asked a coworker for a ride to the clinic at work, got an EKG and got checked out. Everything appeared fine but when it continued today he followed up with his doctor. He had another EKG and a blood draw. At this point everything looks fine and it seems he likely he just strained a muscle in his chest. The likely culprit seems to be excessive coughing from an awful daycare cold.

I'm surprised he took it so seriously and acted immediately but I'm very glad he did. We're expecting LO2 any time now and I need DH and his ticker in tip top shape. I'm thankful he's fine and that we had health coverage to get him checked out.

I'd like to think all my loved ones (and myself) would be so responsive to symptoms but I have my doubts. Maybe he can be my good example.
