@Meggo5: I totally hear that! We live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building with no elevator and so I told DH we could just put the dresser in storage until we need it, but he wants to push it up the 2 flights of stairs to keep it at home with us. Thank God it's not rainy season yet.

@Ladyfingers- I know, right?! It's highway robbery. But their pieces are so pretty and I know, from some other PB furniture I have, that they are generally well built, so I guess some people can justify that. Just not me!!!!

@ambular1025- I am a big fan of finding high quality furniture on CL. I would rather have something well built that might need some love than something less solid. Although, after picking a very heavy peace for our kitchen yesterday, my husband told me that I'm not allowed to bring anything else home. It's just all too heavy to transport.

@Meggo5: That's such a great idea. I hadn't really thought about Craigslist for furniture for some reason. While we're not pregnant yet we did just buy a great antique dresser for our baby's room (whenever he or she comes) for just $235.

Cute! On a different note, I cannot believe they would charge $700 for it retail. Insane!

I just have to share my excitement in my latest furniture find. We settled on a crib recently (PB Kids Kendall Low Profile in white) and were having a really tough time deciding what other kind of furniture we wanted in our nursery. I would have loved the matching extra-wide dresser but I could not imagine spending the $$$ on one. We started looking for lesser priced dressers, but each turned out to be either too high to use as a changer too or not the right color, so I was getting very frustrated.

After many weeks of Craigslist searching, I came across a PB Kids changer/dresser in a very, very close color and we brought it home this past week! It needed a good wipe-down and may need a few minor paint touch-ups (got the Benjamin Moore color code!), but I am so excited for our bargain! We paid $200 vs. the almost $700 that it's selling for in the store. I am soooo thankful for my amazing husband for driving a ways to pick it up, loading it into the car, and bringing it home for me! We have yet to bring it upstairs (we need some more muscle and I am relatively useless at 30 weeks pregnant), but I am just so happy with my bargain of the week.
