It’s pointless is you use your bare hands to touch that nasty faucet full of germs after you’ve washed your hands. Always use your elbow or a towel. Same with the door knob on the way out the restroom. That may be the one thing I learned as a kid from my PA dad that I value the most. Never ever touch handles with your bare hands! So I don't put soap on dry hands, but I also don't get water everywhere.</p> <p>RE: the CDC.. if you read the "whys".. it says that you wet your hands first and then turn off the water to save water, and then put the soap on.. so presumably to not get soap everywhere or on the faucet, or just because you don't need the soap yet. I really don't think it removes less germs because you put the soap on first.
