I just inspected all 3 that we have. Turns out that the ears on the original one that we received as a gift are completely sewn the length of the ear that touches the head. The other 2 that I bought new several months later only have the ears attached at each end. This is one of the ones that came off. I wonder if they changed their manufacturing process? Weird. Anyway, I'll be really careful from now on to inspect every time before giving it to him. Depending on how old the lovey is, that might be something I might consider contacting the manufacturer about, just in case they have received lots of reports from other parents about it. It could be a defect and choking risk.
