this is a more extreme example: http://community.babycenter.com/post/a35320351/rock_and_play_sleeper_mold

the top half of that photo is what was on the bottom part of mine, if that makes sense. my seat wasn't as drastic at that photo - it had smaller spots as seen in the upper half of that rock and play.

but I'd do a google search! I feel like I sound like a paranoid nutcase now HAHA.

@Andrea: I'm not sure, there were mold spots on it when I got it from the other mom - but I google searched and it seems to be common. My guess would be from pee or something soaking into it and not getting cleaned well right away? I'm honestly not sure :/

bumping in case anyone didn't see this!

not saying everyone is going to have a moldy RnP, but just wanted to warn about it, lol.

@winniebee: gross, huh?? I should have taken a photo before I put it out with the trash - I saved the pad (washed a few times) because it was fine, lol. but the sling was SO yucky.

I have written before about buying a used RnP and there being mold spots on the under-sling, that cannot be washed except by hand. A quick google search told me that this is a very common complaint.

I was able to contact Fisher-Price and they sent me a brand new one, but I would warn everyone who uses one (if it's not too late!) to perhaps put a blanket in between the pad and sling, or even a lap pad (the flannel waterproof things). Or if you're comfortable, under baby's bum.

Not worth the hassle of dealing with mold on baby items!
