I had that on my face when I was little. No one told my mom I had to have clean sheets and towels everyday, so I kept re-infecting myself :-/

It's generally a different kind of strep than the kind you get in your throat. There are several different strains.

Earlier this week, DS had what looked like a little zit on his bottom. It wasn't bothering him, and it really just looked like a zit. Thursday night he went to his dad's for the weekend (he was out of school Friday), and his dad tells me last night that there's a horrible rash on DS's bottom.

So, today they rushed him home, and I took him to urgent care, fearing MRSA or other kind of staph. It's STREP on his bottom. It's only contagious if touched, so school is ok (cause no one is touching his butt at school). His friend at school was out because of strep, so I was aware that it could crop up, but not aware that it could appear as a rash.

No sore throat, but he does have the dark circles and pale/grayish face that comes with strep.

I had no idea, until today that this was a thing. He's now on a 10 day regiment of Augmentin (luckily, Walgreens will add flavor for $3! That stuff is nasty!!) and a very strong neosporin-like cream.

So, now you all know!
