shirt up, tank down. I always wear a nursing tank or one of my gap maternity tanks under things.

I have also become lazy pants and only wear a 'real' bra if I have a meeting or someplace nice to go because I LOATHE the 'bra flap' when rying to feed LO. So tanks and 'sleep' bras for me.

I do both, it depends if I am wearing a tank underneath or not. I just ordered a shirt from a company called "boob", they are kind of pricey but I am hoping it will make it easier for restaurants or plane rides when convienience is key.

http://shop.boobdesign.com/en/4/nursing-wear

Definitely down!!! It's easier & I don't have to layer up here in South Texas! That & I've tried the undershirt technique but getting it to stay down while I pull my other shirt up & hold a hungry P is usually just frustrating for both of us.

I like to pull it down to avoid my tummy being exposed. But I use a cover, so I guess it doesn't matter.

@Anagram: I had a few of those that I love, and one of them I'll probably keep wearing forever. Japanese Weekend makes really beautiful things. I eventually mostly ditched them in favor of low cut shirts and dresses, which I just pull down.

LO dribbles milk out of his mouth at pretty much every feed, so the only option I have (to avoid milk getting on my visible clothing) is to pull up the top shirt and down the nursing tank. I tried a button-up with a bra once and I was a milky mess. Embarrassing!

@Anagram: I bought a couple when I was pregnant and found that the layers of fabric were too much for me. They always looked baggy and weird in the front and not flattering on me at all. I don't have a real large chest to begin with though.

Does anyone use nursing shirts? I bought two that I wear right now while I'm preggie and my SIl gave me two. They both have little pockets to pull to the side, with a second layer underneath that pulls to the other side.

I guess the concern with that type of shirt is milk spillage?

Does anyone get use out of these?

I can't find a good picture of what I mean, but kind of like this shirt:

Shirt up, tank down usually. But if I'm wearing something that can easily come down, I'll do that instead.

I'm usually in three layers: top is a sweater/cardigan that opens in front. Next is a long sleeve shirt that I lift up, and bottom is a tank that I push down (and also a nursing bra). I didn't like nursing tanks (without a bra), and I'm always cold, so the extra layers are good for more than public nursing coverage! I also use a cover in public, too.

Shirt up/tank down combo. Unless I'm wearing a cardigan or deep v neck, then I just pull down.

ETA: I always use a cover in public so it doesn't really matter.

I always did the nursing tank under shirt thing so my belly was never exposed and pulled my shirt up. Unless it was a button-down or low-cut top that was easier to pull down.

If you're out and about and breastfeeding, do you pull your shirt up or down? I prefer to pull it up because I feel like it's less obtrusive that way, less skin showing unless you're really looking for it.
