@youboots: I had a triple whammy when H was 4 months old: mastitis, an eye infection, and a sinus infection. I was on Prednisone, several antibiotics, and some sinus medication that caused my supply to tank for a couple of weeks. I didn't have as large of a stash, but I used almost every bit of it and had to fight to get any kind of stash back after that. I also got another sinus infection, bronchitis, and a couple of other sicknesses, and it was difficult for my body to produce milk when I was so sick.

@Alivoo01: once she eats solid food I can put probiotics in her food. It's just a 1/4 t a day. But I think the evening bottle helps her STTN, she did a 9 hour stretch last night.

@avivoca: my original goal was to pump through October when she will be 8 months since we are going on a two week trip and I want to leave my pump at home. Perhaps I will stick to that- only 90 more days :) I am on Depo and don't get a period on it- no problems with that. If you don't mind me asking what kind of illnesses decrease supply?

@youboots: In that case, I would probably keep pumping since she takes 1 bottle a day. You never know when you'll need to use your freezer stash like if you get sick in the upcoming winter and take antibiotics that your LO can't ingest or you go on a date night with your hubby so you can leave some with the sitter, etc.

Based on my own experience, I would keep pumping but start cycling through your frozen milk for the one bottle a day you give her. I had several illnesses that tanked my supply, plus my supply dropped once my period returned at six months and it was very hard to produce everything she needed after that.

Right now T is EBF and takes a bottle 1x a day (about 3oz with probiotics) I mostly SAH and will be full time come October. After shooting my last wedding Saturday I will rarely be away from her more than 3 hours. Right now I only pump 1x a day and I don't like it at all. It's a pain when I am home alone and I don't like the added work of dishes.

I have about 1000 oz in my freezer stash and due to medication I can not donate. If I keep pumping I'm afraid some of it will just end up wasted. Am I missing a reason to keep pumping? I get 10oz during my 1 session. I plan to nurse T to 12 months and day wean shortly after and night and morning nurse for as long as we are both happy with it.

Is there a reason to keep pumping? Do I just just or go down to every other day?
