@Pirouette: on the weekends i often nursed for naps as well. she used to go down without nursing, but after we traveled she became a nursing machine.

@Mrs. Bee: oh I know! I can't wait! I assumed you just did morning/night on the weekends too, right? Yea my only concern is she reverse cycles, so if my supply dips even a little, I hope she'll compensate by taking more while I'm gone. I guess she'll have to!

@Pirouette: towards the end i don't even know how much she was getting because i couldn't feel the let down anymore. but it definitely didn't dry up right away even though i was only nursing day and night. and it is so freeing to stop pumping!

@Mrs. Bee: wow thats a long time! she's 9 months and I'd say at 12 months I'd like to wean, but she may have other ideas and I'd love not to have to force her to wean because of supply!

how old is your lo and how much longer do you want to nurse?

i only nursed morning and night for a really long time.... 15 months until I weaned at 26 months!

When I first started working, I consistently pumped 20+ ounces every day in 3 sessions at work. Then lo stopped taking the bottle and my daytime pumping dropped to around half that. Around a month ago, I dropped a session to 2 pumps and lost another few ounces (around 8ish a day - exactly what she was taking). Now I dropped to one this week at work and am pumping 3-4 ounces.

I don't care as much about the milk since I have a sizeable freezer stash, but I do worry about my ability to continue nursing morning and night. If I'm only pumping a few oz all day, how long can my supply last? She's eating around 2x that - 7 ounces in the 10 hours I'm gone. She nurses a little in the morning and a lot at night.

Should I go back to 2 pumps? Pump for longer? Add another pump session before or after work? Or does it not matter? I just don't want to dry up my milk yet!
