When I dropped to 1 at work, I did it at 12:30pm. I Epd, but I pumped at 7am, 12:30 pm, 5 pm, and 9:30 pm.

Eventually, I went to 7am, 12:30 pm, 8 pm.

Then 7 am, 7 pm.

And then just 7pm. And now this week I am pumping less time at that once a day with the aim of being totally done in the next few days.

When I dropped to one pump, I pumped at noon, give or take, depending on how my boobs felt.

I only pump once at work right now. I nurse when the baby wakes up, between 6 and 7. I pump around 12:30. I nurse when I get home from work at 6:30, and again at 8:30. I was a little engorged a little the first day I pumped once, but I am not particularly prone to engorgement or leaking. I pump enough for one bottle, and the baby gets two bottles during that day. My freezer stash should be big enough to cover the difference until a year. My work schedule is very flexible, and I pump while working in my own office. If I don't get enough at my one session, I pump again at 3:30. If I could not do this, I would make sure to pump twice the next day to prevent my supply from going down too much.

I recently switched to one pump during work hours. This is my schedule: bf at 7am - just one side and pump the other. Usually get 6-7 oz. Pump at noon where I get about 8 oz (both sides combined), then bf at 5 & 7pm and once during the night. Dd is almost 5 months and takes 12 oz. at daycare so I'm still freezing about 2-3 oz a day.

When I first went back to work, I pumped twice at about 10:30 and 2, and got a total of 11-13 oz, which was way too much so I cut down.

When I went to one pump session at my old job I did late morning/lunchtime. IDK what I will do with a teacher schedule when I go back to work.

Yes! This is exactly what I need info on! LO just turned 5 months and I am so burned out with the pumping thing. I work 10 hour shifts, so usually I am nursing at 6ish (with pumping after), pumping at 10ish and 2ish, nursing at 7ish, and then once again during the night.. I would love to cut out one of the sessions, so I am thinking I will just pump at 12/1ish (this may get complicated with work and lunch, but w/e). I am worried about my supply tanking and bf stopping because I will miss it, but like I said, pumping is the pits!

@DesertDreams88: I exclusively pump so that may or may not be that helpful for you but when I went down to a single pump at work my schedule was pump at 6:30, 1:30/2:00 and 8:00. im down to just pumping morning and night (but my LO just turned one).

I'm going to cut down to 1x a day in a few weeks... I'm currently nursing at 6:15am, pumping at 10:30/11, pumping again at 3:30/4, then nursing at 8pm.

I think I'm going to switch to pumping the one time at 1:30.

LO is almost 11 months, and we supplement with formula already!

@desertdreams88 DS will be 12 months next week. I just dropped to 1 pump at work, around 10:30am give or take. My milk production is WAY higher in the morning so by that point I am pretty engorged. I've always had an oversupply though. I still pump a lot at that 1 pump session. Usually nurse him when I get home around 4:30. I am sometimes having to supplement with frozen milk because although I pump a lot at the 1 pump session, it's frequently not quite enough (and thankfully I have a freezer stash).

This has been fine for us because at this point, I don't really care if my supply goes down a little. I would love to stop pumping altogether at work but I still make way too much milk for that!

bumping, I know there's more of you out there... :) @simplyfelicity:, have any input? I remember you're a teacher so I imagine you had similar timeframe to mine...

I think when I dropped to one pump, I did it around noon. So it was nurse at 6am, pump at 12pm, nurse at 6pm. But DD was 13 months by that point.

I am toying with the idea of going from 2 pump sessions down to one a day, and supplementing with formula.

As of right now, I nurse at 6:30, pump at 9:30 and 12:30, nurse around 4:30, and pump around 8:30. On average, my three pumps sessions cover 2.5 of his 3 daily bottles. I get barely anything at my second pump session, and when he nurses in the afternoon sometimes I have to top him off with some pumped milk.

If I drop down to one session, it will be nurse at 6:30, pump at 12:00, nurse at 4:30, and pump at 8:30. The 5.5 hour break in the morning is a little worrying. However, I almost never get engorged, and I never leak.

So, basically, if you only pump once at work, what was your schedule like? How long were the gaps between your nursing and pumping sessions?
