@citymouse: Oh at this point you do need to take it very slow then. Mastitis is no fun :/

@junebugmama: he is 1 month. It was rec'd to me to go slow bc I had a plugged duct last week that developed into mastitis.

@danda: yeah, bc of plugged ducts. Last week I had one the developed into mastitis so it was rec'd to go super slow. I definitely want to be done now tho haha! My next pump was normal so I guess it was a fluke.

How old is your LO? If you want to wean from the pump, then I would only pump when you feel full unless you need to still get a certain amount. Lots of woman talk about dropping pumping sessions, but depending upon where you are in the process, you may not need to take it as slow as you might think.

Were you going slowly to prevent engorgement/plugged ducts or in order to keep the milk a little longer?

Personally, if I wanted to wean and no milk was coming out, I'd just stop pumping unless I felt full.

So I have been weaning off the pump. Today was my first day at 7 pumps. At my most recent pump, it took 8 mins before anything came out and then it was only a teeny bit. Sign of drying up? Keep pumping? I was planning a super slow wean that would take me to the 3rd week in March to be finished.
