Do you have one at home that you can bring in? My office was always so cold that I just had to spend the money to buy one. It was better than sitting there with my winter jacket and gloves on every day because they kept the office too cold all the time!

That stinks. I guess maybe the other person did need it more, maybe they had a medical issue.

Our pumping room was always FREEZING. It was a small room and the door was always closed so it just stayed super cold. Before I pumped, I would open the door for a second or two to try to get the cold air out!

@oliviaoblivia: I would, but we were off all of last week because of Sandy and we got off early yesterday because of the Noreaster. Frozen boobies for me.

I'd probably just go home early. It's totally not cool of them to expect you to pump in an unheated room.

I think you should find the person with the space heater and ask if their comfort while fully clothed is more important than your comfort while exposed--that's ridiculous!

Oh my goodness. I hated pumping or nursing in the cold/winter, I can't imagine doing it with no heat. I have a blanket at my desk since I'm always cold at work. I think I'd have to bring it with me to pump too. Hope it gets better soon! :-/

Just felt like venting today. I'm thankful we have a lactation room at my job (it's for staff, faculty, & students) but we haven't had heat all week and probably won't have heat until next week. Everyone is sitting at their desks in their winter coats. I asked HR if there was an extra space heater milling around and they put one in the lactation room. This morning it was there, this afternoon it was gone.

Apparently they took the space heater because they relocated some people who were still in the cold and gave the little space heater to someone else. I wanted to send a message saying, "Does that person need to expose their breasts in the cold?"

I just don't understand why one person gets the space heater when we are ALL sitting in the cold. WTF?
