@blushink: ugh I learned my lesson!!

@mrsmenow: That's hat I was doing but created an oversupply and LO is having a bar time with it so I need to decrease my supply!! Sounds like a good problem to have but he is coughing, gassy, hiccuping, and getting too much foremilk : (

I would completely empty the breast that LO doesn't feed from and freeze that milk. Then you will get a nice stash for future use!

oh but i'm sure you can keep it. Maybe mix it with some milk you express (rather than all foremilk)

It's exactly for that reason (creating more demand) that I don't pump to relieve myself. I just use hot and cold compresses and express a little milk in the shower.

definitely save it, you will use it for mixing. And eventually when you pump for bottles when you go back to work, you can mix it with the fattier stuff. I wouldnt give a pure bottle of foremilk though-its so high in sugar it can give them a tummyache...

I'd still use it, especially once they start solids sometimes I'd just mix water with her cereal or other food purees, so milk would be better. And foremilk still has some fat and lots of good stuff in it, it just doesn't have quite as much fat, so with their tiny bellies when they're newborns it probably makes a bigger difference to them then when they're a couple months older and can fit more in their bellies.

After consulting with a lactation consultant, in order to regulate my oversupply and forceful let down, I'm just pumping to relieve engorgement and to help LO get to the hind milk. He usually only feeds one side so I would just pump the other side during that feeding, creating an artifical demand for more milk.

Anyways, what I pump can be up to 2 oz just from relieving engorgement. I know it's all foremilk. Any suggestions on using this milk for future feedings. Does it matter? Thanks!
