If I had to guess...she consumes about 24oz right now of BM. Just a guess based on how full my boobs feel before/after her 2 nursing sessions.

She does eat breakfast (3.5-4oz), lunch (3.5-4oz), and dinner (3.5-4oz) with maybe some extra snacks like handfuls of puffs as a minimum. And then I let her have 4-6oz of water on top of that (she tends to get constipated frequently without water)

Somewhere around 9.5 months my LO dropped a feeding and I was able to stop using my freezer stash to make up my shortfall. Now I'm actually pumping more than he eats and have been able to freeze extra. I think it's entirely possible that a similar thing could happen to you and you won't need to continue using your freezer stash. If it doesn't, you could always do a mix of WCM and BM. I think I've read that a good ratio is 75% BM and 25% WCM.

ETA: FWIW, my LO was on 30 oz a day and dropped down to around 24 oz.

We did something where we mixed BM with hemp milk (my LO's MSPI) for a few weeks before transitioning to 100% hemp milk. We started at around 11.5 months and did one week each of 25% hemp milk, 50%, 75%, then 100%. If you were going to start at 11 months, I'd definitely mix it first to make it easier on her.

My LO didn't drop ounces between 9 and 12 months, but she didn't add any either, if that helps. I quit pumping at 12 months almost exactly with a pretty small freezer stash, but she was on 100% hemp milk within a couple weeks of her first birthday, so we made it.

I think you'll be fine introducing wcm earlier. My ped recommends starting 2-3 weeks before our 1 year appt in case there are any issues we can discuss them then.

Thanks all.

We do have a 9mo appt next week so I might ask if it's okay to introduce a little bit of WCM at 11 mo to see if she'll drink it and then I could maybe cut BM with WCM if I go on this trip to stretch the BM enough for her.

I just can't see the point of giving her formula (she has never had it...I just heard it doesn't taste very good) when she is 2-3 weeks away from 12 mo old.

I just wasn't sure if I should expect her to drop ozs. or anything between now and 12 months...

I plan on quitting pumping at work at 12 mo so she will have to move to WCM during the day and I planned on continuing to nurse before bed or before work if she wanted.

Our pedi is okay with starting WCM at 11 months.

LO1 was EBF and I had a huge freezer stash, but was ready to wean. I slowly dropped daytime pumping sessions, but I was concerned my stash might not last until 1. Our pedi suggested WCM over formula (for an EBF baby that never had formula). and we were told we could start giving her some WCM at 11 months.

At 11 months we gave her some WCM in a sippy and slowly increased the amount to replace one of her daytime bottles. At 1 year, I was nursing morning and night and she had 2 sippys of WCM a day.

You could also focus on increasing solids, so LO will need fewer calories from milk.

From 6m on one BF baby doesn't typically up their intake. And also they'll be eating more solids so might need less BM!

My LO was taking exactly what yours does (3 5oz bottles and then two nursing sessions) at that age. We started transitioning to cow's milk a little early, I think it was like 11.5 months. My pediatrician mentioned that it's ok to start the transition a little early, which I felt comfortable with. We had no issues. I would use your freezer stash and then just introduce a little cow's milk if you don't have enough.

8-9 months she went from 12 to 9/10 oz at daycare. Im sure if I sent 12 she would finish it some days but I hate wasting it and shedoes we'll with solids ans we bf on demand when together. She's 10.5 months now and I cut back to 2 pump sessions a day and am getting 9-10 oz. when o was on 3 I would get 12-14.

I EPd, and my LO was still taking 24+ ounces of bm a day until 13 months, when I transitioned her to hemp milk. She was very late to eating solids though-- we started attempting at 6 months but she didn't become a good eater till 13 months.

Its hard to say. You can talk to your pediatrician about starting whole milk early at 11 months but I wouldn't count on her being on it 100%. Most kids take about a full month to slowly transition off BM.

I would go ahead and start using your freezer stash. There is a chance your supply may come back up if it was just a temporary sickness.

My kids from 3 months until 12 months always had three 4 oz bottles.

With my 2nd my supply was tanking big time at 11 months and although I wanted to continue to nurse I knew I would stop pumping at 12 months so the Ped told me I could add a little CM to her diet instead of formula. I took what I could pump at work and then used CM to make up the difference.

Mine LO is 9mo old. I have about 180-200oz in the freezer still. After being sick this weekend my supply took a little hit and I am about 3oz short each day (unless I can bring it back up a bit).

I think I could use two frozen bags a week (12oz) to make up my shortfall and would take me right up until her first birthday.

But I was also thinking of going on a 5 day trip when she is about 11 months. I am not sure if I'll bring her. If I don't...she will still need breastmilk (did anyone give whole milk that early?). Should I give her BM or milk? mix it?

If I go on this trip, I don't think I will have enough BM if she keeps drinking at her current rate (3 5oz bottles plus 2 nursing sessions)

Do the ounces drop off anytime around 10-12 months?? How much breastmilk should a 11mo old be drinking?
