Wow, I don't think I could, I get very sleepy anytime I nurse or pump- I would be afraid of falling asleep at the wheel.

I do it often with a double electric. Its easier to just do one side until you get the hang of it. I set up while at a stop sign or before I leave. Usually have a blanket draped over me. For me, its really not any harder then driving while holding a phone to my ear.

I pump and drive almost daily. It's really easy - especially if you set up before you take off. Maybe it's not the smartest thing to do but as mom's you've got to save time when/where you can. I have a 25 min commute to work, so it works well. I've never pumped/driven with my LO in the vehicle.

AND I agree with @sloaneandpuffy, it absolutely cannot be compared to breastfeeding while driving....!!!

Yes, I've done it with a double electric, with pumping bra. It wasn't dangerous at all since I set up before I started driving and just switched off when I was done, disassembling everything later. Absolutely cannot be compared to breastfeeding while driving!

I was curious at one point and had considered trying it. As @anbanan15 said, you have to set everything up beforehand. Because I exclusively pump, it used to be so difficult to ever leave the house with my LO. He ate every 2 hours, and I pumped every 2 hours. Pumping while driving would have eliminated a few trips to the public bathrooms to pump while we were out. I only have one more month remaining, and as curious as I am, I don't think I will be trying it out.

Hmm I dont think this is a good idea, especially the manual pumping. One woman got arrested for breast feeding while driving and she claimed she had been doing it just fine for several months. I dont think its worth the risk, there are so many wacky drivers out there not paying attention to the road, I like to put my full attention on the road to avoid accidents.

I have in the passenger seat, but not while driving. I also don't see how she could manually pump while driving? That takes two hands sometimes.

I read a blog by a women who pumps while driving all the time (I can't remember which blog it was). She said the trick was to have everything set up before she started driving and then takes everything off once she arrives or when she is stuck in traffic.

I've never pumped while driving, but I have in the passenger seat. I use the Medela handsfree or I'll pump one side at a time holding onto it.

My DH's friend had a job that required her to be on the road a lot. She said she pumped (both manual and electric) while driving all the time.

Has anyone ever pumped while driving? What kind of pump did you use?
