I said I would like a keepsake that I could give to the baby when she was older.</p> <p>Well, he hit it out of the park.</p> <p>Our daughter's name is Irene, which means peace. We always joked that I should have gotten a pair as a wedding gift, but we were so budget-strapped back then that we decided to forgo gifts to each other. I had hinted at a push gift since I love gifts... but he totally blew me away with the earrings. First I laughed -- then I thought how impressed I was that he even knew what it was. I had mentioned that a friend of mine got one but was definitely not pushing it on him.
