But, I pushed for 3.5 hours before we made the decision for a c-section. I didn't labor down per se but I allowed my body to start the pushing rather than doing it when told. But many docs have you push as soon as you are complete. She said that for the first pregnancy 2 hours is average, but she thought I would push for one because the baby was already so low. And I did push for exactly an hour.
