I don't know if it really helps, but he happily stays horizontal while we do it. Our ENT also gave us small funnels to use if we wanted to really make sure the medicine got in, but we never did.</p> <p>@gingerbee: I remember those days when it took two of us to do the drops!! One thing that helped was warming up the drops. Microwave some water in a dish and then place the drops in there for a minute. This last go round, we let LO play with the drops. So we literally had to get a blanket and do a giant toddler sized swaddle, pin him down on his side, and do the cleaning first, then the drops, pump the little nub on his ear to get the drops to settle and then hold him there for a minute while he screamed. Then repeat on the other side. He still ended up getting a post op ear infection so we had to do this for weeks afterwards and it really sucked. Do you put cotton balls in your child's ear or keep your little one on their side for a few minutes before putting drops in the other ear? </p>
