We tried pacifiers, she's not interested. Looks like I start tonight to break this habit. I had heard about milk and tooth decay but not formula, I knew when starting it it wasn't ideal, however we were kind of running out of patience and it worked to get her to sleep! Looks like I search for a new plan.

I never did this with any of my children. The baby puts herself to sleep as of now so we aren't doing a feeding right before bed.
I'd personally not want to start a habit like that.

It's not a habit I would want to start. I'd also suggest a pacifier. E will randomly get upset at bedtime and throw a fit sometimes. but we stay consistent and the phase usually passes in a few days.

So, we definitely did/do this. Our pediatrician basically said it's okay until the switch to whole milk... Not much different than nursing to sleep. We're using the last bottle of breastmilk tonight, so we've got to switch up the routine now.

@T.H.O.U.: Agreed.

I've also always heard that it causes tooth decay. I would possibly try the pacifier!

I've never had any experience with this but I've heard the same as @oliviaoblivia: - it promotes tooth decay because the milk just sits in their mouth and eats away at the enamel. My pediatrician always checked that we weren't doing that every time I came in with my eldest while he was still using bottles.

You might ask your pediatrician. Ours recommended not even doing a bottle of water in the crib. Can you switch to a pacifier instead?

I've read that it increases tooth decay. Can you switch her to a bottle of water?

I have started to put LO to bed with her night time bottle. A few months ago, she would finish the bottle in our arms & then we would transport her to the crib and she would go to sleep. Not anymore, when I try this now she gets completely worked up unless I give her a bottle and then no problem, she finsihes bottle and falls asleep in her crib.

How bad of a habit is giving her a bottle in bed, am I going to regret this later? Please tell me I'm not the only one doing this! Edit: She's 8 1/2 months old!
