It has 9 (?) animals on it so it helps her piece the puzzle together. She's almost two though so an older kid can probably visualize much better. They sound like the perfect next step for you. We have the Melissa and Doug ones that are pretty simple, shapes, animals, alphabet etc but LO can put them together in just a few seconds. I haven't found anything that's the next step up that doesn't seem too difficult. Is there such a thing that's a little more challenging but around 12 pieces and pretty durable? </p>
