I had an Ameda with my first and am on month 8 of pumping with a Spectra for DD2. I love my Spectra. I'm able to use my Ameda parts with it without hacking them so I didn't have to buy an adapter or any special bottles. I use Playtex Nurser's so I would have had to transfer milk anyway.

As for suction, I like it better than my Ameda and it's easier for me to customize.

I don't know about freemies, but I had better luck with the Pisa than spectra

I have the PISA from DD1 and the Spectra from DD2. I was really impressed with the spectra for the first month or so and then it quickly lost suction. I got it replaced but the new one still wasn't great (I was using the medela adapters since I already had all the medela parts). I ended up going back to the medela and I'm much happier.

I had both. I just put my new Spectra away, and took my PISA back out. The Spectra just didn't have the right suction.

Keep in mind that with freemies you will pour into a bottle at the end no matter what, so you can pick any bottle. I used a freestyle pump with LO1 which was amazing as I was often pumping in unpredictable places. And now with LO2 I have a PISA and use the freemies cups and love it. I hated the bottles hanging off and needing to use a hands free bra. Now I just tuck them in and go. Less set up and easier hands free at my desk. I didn't notice any suction issues but I also have an oversupply so I'm not as sensitive to it.

I had both a PISA and Spectra with DD1 (3 years ago) and always got more milk with the Spectra. I went for the Spectra with DD2 (6 weeks old) and have been happy with this one as well. I do use Medela pump parts (you can get a small adapter through Amazon) because I had several sets and liked the fit better. You can also get bottle adapters for most brands but I just pour from my Medela bottles into Dr Browns (we like the preemie nipples) and it's not a hassle - I like to measure out specific amounts anyway.

Haven't used freemies so no help there.

Compiling a "wish list" for baby #2. For LO1, my PISA was a workhorse and kept him fully fed for 2-4 pumps a day, for 9 months. I have four questions, please answer whatever you can:

1) Can Medela Freestyles be hacked to work with Freemies?
2) If I used the PISA at mostly full suction for most of the time, will Freemies give me enough section to mostly or fully empty?
3) I was also interested in the Spectra due to rave reviews, but the PISA's suction worked for me and it seems that the posts have said Spectra is not as strong? What about freemie capabilites with that one?
4) LO fed from Lasinoh (wide neck) bottles, so having two sets of bottles as annoying. Should I consider the Lasinoh pump? What about suction and freemie capabilites with that one?
