I agree with Kayla on 1 and 2.

As for progesterone levels due to Prometrium, it depends on how you are taking it I think. If you take it vaginally, then it will not effect your blood progesterone level since it's absorbed directly into the uterus/lining. If you are taking it orally though, it will effect your blood levels since 'digesting' it brings it into the blood stream to be carried to the uterus/lining.

@DesertDreams88: I'm definitely not an expert, but I'll attempt to answer your questions...

1. Progesterone testing would not be a good way to determine your O date - it would only be able to tell you whether or not you ovulated. The rate of increase of progesterone level and how high it gets is different for everyone, so they wouldn't be able to tell when you ovulated by that test.
2. If your day 21 fell on a Saturday, wouldn't you still be able to do blood work? I was able to get lab work done at a walk-in clinic on a Saturday. If you can't, or if it was Sunday, I would think one day in either direction wouldn't make too much of a difference.
3. Prometrium would definitely inflate your progesterone level, since that's it's purpose. So if you wanted to get an accurate test of what your body produces without a supplement, you would want to skip using Prometrium for the cycle that you do the 21 day test.

I know that day 21 progesterone testing is usually to determine if you ovulated. I also know that if your cycles are unpredictable, sometimes it's better to do P testing 7 days after your actual ovulation day, and not just the default "day 21."

Three questions:
- Would day 21 progesterone testing be a way to backwards determine a better estimate of when I ovulated? I think I either ovulated day 13 or day 16. Could I go for the default 21, find out my level, and be able to better det. O date?

- If your day 21 falls on a Saturday, would it be better to do day 20 or day 23? I think day 23, bc of the possible late O?

- How does taking Prometrium figure into all this? I was supposed to start it after ovulation, but I haven't yet bc I'm not sure if I O-ed yesterday or not. I'm thinking of waiting another day or two, like day 18 or 19.... does it artificially inflate P levels?

I know I could ask my OB but for various reasons I'd rather ask all of you :)
