I just got a BFP and this month, we did something different. We only did the BD 3 days before, the day before, and the day after I O'ed. Good luck!

@AlyB25: ditto, we also did it about 24 hours apart. And we started early too because I got EWCM starting on like CD 13, so I went by the old adage "When in doubt, bang it out" :) But maybe next month I'll wait for a temp dip/spike (if this wasn't our month--fingers crossed!), since I don't use OPKs.

@hilsy85: I totally get what you mean by the amount of sex and the swimmers at the end...we BD'd the 6 days before O and the day of O itself, and by the end I was like, how can there even be any swimmers left?! This cycle, we didn't want to miss O so we started early, but I was worried that by the time I actually O'd there was no sperm left lol...I know it is probably illogical...we Bd'd 24 hours apart which is a decent amount of time, but if we are unsuccessful this cycle I am going to wait until I get a positive OPK next time.

@AlyB25: Thanks lady! Fingers crossed for you too!

@MamaMoose: I've also heard that BD'ing EOD is better if your DH has any problems with sperm count/morphology/etc. But BDing every day is fine otherwise...although actually, my DH was complaining about the amount of sex we had this month (6 days in a row) because he felt like he wasn't giving me his best swimmers in the end, lol.

@MamaMoose: well, that was the logic a few years ago...they thought you should give the sperm time to "build up". now I have heard that you should BD every day in the days leading up to O, IF your DH has a "normal" sperm count. If his sperm count is low, you want to BD every other day. This is just what I heard when researching this. It is entirely up to you how often you want to BD, some people get tired BDing every day, so every other day works better for them. I think I read 33% of pregnancies occurred from BDing every other day, while 37% occurred from BDing every day, so it is only increased by a little bit. If this cycle for us in unsuccessful, we will BD every other day to see if that helps.

OK so I have a question reading over this. It seems like most people are BD'ing every day for the few days before and at ovulation. My OB told me to BD every other day.... now I'm confused!

from what i understand, it is much more important to BD in the days leading up to O, especially O-2, O-1, and the day of O, so it looks like you had perfect timing! Sperm can live in fertile cervical fluid for a few days, where your egg only lives 12-24 hours, so BDing the day after O is not *likely* to result in pregnancy. Not saying that its not possible, but it is definitely much more important to BD in the days leading up to O. Good luck in your TWW! I am in the TWW as well :)

Thanks ladies! Here's hoping some strong ones hung around :) The other annoying thing is that this puts me at 2DPO instead of 5 dpo--extending the 2ww! Boo! :)

We got our BFP this month and BD 0-2, 0-1, 0, and 0+1 but I didn't temp (used CBEFM) so it might be off by one day. Fx for you!

You're fine. Sperm lives and hangs out for so long it's really not an issue. We did not BD the day after the month I got a bfp.

So it looks like FF is going to move my CHs to CD18 instead of CD 15, assuming that my temp doesn't drop below my cover line tomorrow morning. I'm a little peeved because we had awesome timing, assuming that I O'd on CD 15--we BD'd O-3, O-1, O, and O+1. However, if I actually O'd on CD 18, then we BD'd on O-3, O-2, O-1, and O. But we missed O +1. Not sure how important that day actually is though.

So my question is, for those of you who got BFPs while charting, which days around O did you BD? And do you think missing the day after O is a big deal? FF still gives me a "high" rating...
