Sent birth announcements around 3-4 weeks. My suggestion would be to buy your envelopes separate then you can work on addressing and stamping them while you wait. I just took a million sleeping pictures myself and picked one to send out, so they were about 3 weeks after she was born. Our photog was awesome and let me go through his camera at the session and choose the pick for our card and then edited it and emailed it to me three days later.
