I'd call and explain why you'd rather come Monday. The test is meant for P+7, so I'd wait until P+7 for a more true result.

Definitely call and push to have it done Monday! It could give you false low results if your body hasn't had the full 7 days after O for the progesterone to rise. My OB office does day 21 as a default, but is very pro-temping, charting, etc. and were relieved that I had a better idea of when I ovulated so we could do it as accurately as possible. My RE also tested 7 days past O, but I was being monitored very closely there so we had an even better idea of when ovulation happened.

@winniebee: I think you're right to call given what you know about your body. I think doctors assume a lot of time that women have no idea when they ovulate and so day 21 is just the standard default. They want the best information too so getting the right day will be important to them too. And you're not a phony! Just because you already have kids doesn't make this any easier or make your concerns less valid! Good luck!

@Pumuckl: yeah it's strange I'm pretty pushy about other stuff with my Doctors but I sort of feel like a phony when it comes to the repeat loss testing I'm having done now since I have two kids already. I guess that's besides the point though.

@winniebee: Ha, I would just pest them! I mean you're only trying to help in a way, ey. Cause if you wait and then tell them once you are there Friday they might send you away and have you come back Monday. That'd be an even bigger pain in the a** for you and probably for them too...

I'd wait until Monday - my RE had me come in for progesterone testing 7 days after bloodwork confirmed my LH surge.

I think you know your body best!
When I did this BW at my OB office it was day 21 no matter what.
At my RE once I was being monitored it mattered on the day and my OPKs

If they don't know your cycle enough, go with what you think!

Best of luck!

I would just call your dr.'s office, tell them and then see what they suggest you do.

I'm having my progesterone tested this cycle, which is typically done on day 21. Because I usually ovulate a little later (30 day cycle usually ovulate around day 16/17) my doctor said to come in around day 22 (which is this Friday).

I had no ovulation a signs at day 16 so did a few OPKs and this morning, day 18 is the first time I can say the OPK was positive. I've never temped, but based on everything I know about my body, I'll ovulate later today or tomorrow and, I'll typically get my period 13 days from today. Day 22 will probably only be 3-4 DPO which won't tell us anything, so I'm thinking I should go in next Monday, which would be 6-7 DPO and CD25.

Thoughts?
