24m and 2T are different sizes. 24m is 18-24m, 2T is 2-3 years.

And yeah, 2T is longer and leaner.

In my experience, 2T is cut slimmer and 24M is cut wider (for diapers, I guess). Basically, you're looking at baby cuts versus toddler cuts, since toddlers tend to slim up when they're walking/running and stuff.

I've asked the sales lady at Baby Gap before and she just said it's almost the same except 2T is a little bigger.

I've heard before that 2T tends to be bigger than 24 mos.

I'm always confused by the lack of consistency/sense in children's clothes sizes! If you're in the store it might help to directly compare the same garment in the baby vs toddler size to see the difference in size.

I've been confused about 24 mos. and 2T, too. My son is 17 mos. and ready to move up out of the 18 mos. and I thought that we should just go with 24 mos. But from what I just read on a local Facebook mom's group, 2T is for taller and 24 mos. and wider (for diapers) and shorter. My son is tall and thin, so now I'm wondering if I should skip 24 and go with 2T? Ahh! So confusing all right!

D will soon be outgrowing his 12-month clothing. As I'm looking at larger clothing, I'm seeing that there is usually a split - baby sizes are 0-24 months, and Boy sizes are 2T-whatever. H&M splits it 0-24 months and 1 1/2-10 years. Is there a difference between, like 24m and 2T clothing? Or 18m and 1 1/2y? I think the H&M split is specific to H&M, so if you can't answer that, cool. But with the 24m and 2T...? Is there any difference in size? Who knew buy kids' clothing would be so complicated.???
