@winniebee: Towards the end of my pregnancy I had leakage that went through my underwear and pants! Was pretty sure it was amniotic fluid, but it wasn't! Still have no idea what it was. OB thinks I pee'd myself. But uh. Don't think so :P :)

Thanks ladies. I can't tell if it's normal. It is more watery than before, but who knows. I am going to call in the morning if it continues.

I heard that amniotic fluid smells a certain way. But I don't know! If you have any leakage, call your OB! :) I called mine many many times during my 3rd trimester. hha.

I always wore a liner so I'm not sure how much discharge was ever really there. But it seems to have raised a red flag with you and you know your body best so I would call if it continues.

Oh, so much TMI... The discharge for me has definitely picked up going into my 3rd trimester, so it's probably normal. I finally caved and started using panty liners every day. Still, you might want to call your doctor just in case.

@winniebee: I say call, especially since their office is so close to where you work, you could easily pop on over and they can test to see if it is amniotic fluid or not.

@winniebee: Haha - you started it!! :) OMG...don't describe it. I would just say, if it's different than your normal discharge, call.

@mediagirl: This is such a gross thread!

But, I'm kind of thinking if it continues this way I call. If it's a one shot deal, I don't. I hate liners so don't wear them. I could describe the fluid, but I think people just finished their lunches : /

Geez...I have no idea. I think if I had a consistent leak that went through the liner (I have been wearing liners since week 12) I would definitely call the OB. That's what they're there for!

Possible TMI....

My OB says to call if you notice a difference in mucuous/leaking fluid. My question is how do you tell the difference between normal pregnancy discharge and amniotic fluid? To date, I have had what I thought was "normal" amounts of pregnancy-related mucous/discharge. Just a few minutes ago, I noticed more than the "normal" amount (enough to go through my underpants). Not sure if this merits a call to my OB? How do you know if fluid is normal? I'm almost 24 weeks.

Thanks!
