Thanks for the responses. I figured that's how it worked. I just saw some of the online due date calculators, and they never seem to ask about your cycle length.

The best way is to have an early ultra sound. They will measure the embryo and give you a date. But if you try to guess like mrsjwy said use your ovulation which is two weeks before you get a positive pregnancy text

I had long and irregular cycles. They were anywhere from 35 to 90 days. When I went to the dr I tried to tell the nurse but she wasn't paying attention. She took the date of my last period and wrote it down. By her calculations I was 13 weeks pregnant. I told her I knew that was not the case and that I was probably six or seven. She still wouldn't listen. The dr came in did the ultra sound and I was six weeks pregnant. So just remember to kept reminding them you have irregular cycles

My cycle is all over the place too since I'm still nursing. I think O dates are usually 2 weeks before you get your BFP though.

My cycles average 36 days. The way that I calculated my EDD before drs appt was based on my "O" date + 2 weeks prior being pregnant. The dating U/S confirmed my date when it measured the fetus.

Purely hypothetical, but I'm curious. I know that generally your due date is determined based on start of your last period. However, my cycles are all over the map (been off of BC for 3 months). If I happen to get pregnant during a cycle like last month, which was 55 days, do they use a different method?

Hopefully I'll just get back to my normal, pre-BC 28 day cycles though!
