That's tough. If it were me I would push for two naps, but I can't imagine he'd want to take a nap when the other kids don't. Charlie only dropped his morning nap at 15 1/2 months and that was because we Pushed him to. It took weeks for him to get used to the schedule.

Could they maybe stroller nap him for the first nap, if only until he's back on the 1 nap schedule? I'd def move bedtime up too if u can to 6;30...

Nah, Mavrick did the same thing when he started daycare. He loved playing with the other kids so he sicked the nap. Sure he was tired at first, but he adjusted himself. Now he sleeps 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

My LO was taking her morning nap at home long after she dropped it at daycare. It seemed to work fine that she had two different nap schedules since the 2 environments are so different. I think it just depends what will work best for your DS and if he does need 2 naps during the weekend, then I would try and get him back there.

My 13 month old goes back and forth between one long or two short naps. He seems to be okay with either although he goes to sleep at bedtime much more easily when he just has the one.

That's tough... Wagon Jr. only transitioned to one big nap around 18 months. A 2-3 hour nap should be enough sleep, but probably the transition home and everything is tougher on him. Can you try pushing his bedtime up so he gets to bed sooner?

Our pedi told us at the 1 year appointment that some kids can take only one long nap a day when they start getting into toddlerhood. Once my son started joining the toddler class, he started taking one long nap from 12:30 - 3pm every afternoon during the week. On the weekends we still do two naps: a short nap in the morning and the usual longer nap (though not quite as long as at school) in the afternoon.

DS is 12 months and goes to an in-home daycare. He is the youngest, with the next being just over 2 yrs, two 3 years olds and a 4 year old.

DS is the only one who takes 2 naps a day. He takes 2 naps at home, one around 10 am and one around 1 or 2pm. He sleeps through from 8pm to 6am most nights.

The problem is that he is so happy to be playing with the other kids, that he has a lot of trouble settling down for a morning nap, and the daycare provider stopped trying to put him down in the mornings a few months ago. So now he sleeps for 2-3 hours around 1pm during the week, and on weekends he still takes his 2 naps.

After being out of daycare for a week, DS was completely overtired yesterday evening and cried non stop for 30 minutes when we got home until I finally took him out for a run in the jogging stroller and he quieted.

Prior to the week off, he was a little fussy and tired in the evenings, but not like last night.

Should I be pushing for him to be taking 2 naps, or just let him adjust back to his schedule and let it be.
