@MrsMccarthy: I am still nursing, but have managed to wean down to just once a day. I'm not tempting though as this is only my first cycle pp and after this I suspect I'll be monitored by the clinic anyway. Thank you honey, I hope it happens soon for you too!

Hmmm I'm not sure about my cycles yet as it's my first one pp. I suspect not to be honest, although I was able to normalise them last time through acupuncture to have LO.

@CupQuakeWalk: Ahhhh, that does make sense, thank you. I'm hoping at theclinic tomorrow they will be able to tell whether I ovulated or not but then since they don't have my baseline levels I'm not sure whether they will.

Thanks guys, I feel a lot less confused now :)

@travelgirl1: you're good. You get the positive and then the next day is when ovulation actually happens. So, positive yesterday, and then you get your ewcm today because it is now 12-36h after.
As far as a "kind of" positive OPK, it was either positive or getting there. The surge is so quick that you may have caught it if you took another OPK 4 hours later instead of the following day.

Everything that @MrsMccarthy: said is true. You generally O about 6-36 hours after you get a true positive OPK. Unfortunately with us PCOSers, we can get multiple "positives" and batches of fertile CM just because of how our hormones are. I always tried to take any positive as a "true" positive. Do you have normal cycles? The only way to really see if you O is to temp, but even that can only tell you after the fact.

Yes it's very possible that you could have egg white CM after ovulation as you can have up to 36 hours after a positive to O and sometimes you gear up and then don't so you gear up again. Are you still nursing? Sometimes nursing can cause several patches of egg white before O and you can gear up but not ovulate. Are you temping? Three days of high temps could really clue you in to if you have ovulated. Good luck! I hope it happens quickly for you.

I am a TOTAL OPK novice so I apologise if this is a really dumb question, but.... I've been using the ovulation strips this month and yesterday had two dark lines. I'm not convinced the test strip was darker than the control strip and they both looked thin so I was worried the dye had run, but we did the BD anyway. So, today was a definite negative and the test strip was the lightest it has been in a few days. However, just now I noticed stretchy CM so we BD again. If yesterday was truly a positive, should there have been stretchy CM yesterday instead of today? I'm SO confused! Does it sound like I could ovulate? I thought maybe it was leftover swimmers from last night but it seemed very different. It's my first cycle since having LO 16 months ago and I have an appointment with a fertility clinic on Wednesday so I'm just giving it the best shot I can :silly: I also have PCOS and have zero experience of what a *normal* cycle should look like.
