I agree, Better safe than sorry.

I will share that my midwife said that after my initial bleeding slowed down, I could expect a day or two where it suddenly went back to bright red heavy blood. She explained it was the area of the uterus where the placenta attached finally healing.

I had an increase in bleeding around two weeks pp that spooked me a bit but everything was fine. But, I hadn't had it stop completely prior to that. No harm in calling if you're worried.

@Coffee-lover: were you especially active yesterday? that could cause increased bleeding

I bled a LOT some days but OB said as long as its less than 1 pad an hour she wasn't worried

If you are worried, call your OB. I haven't had a C-Section so I don't have much experience. But it sounds like you are in a lot of pain and bleeding heavily and I think that's worth a call to the doc.

Hello everyone,

I have a question about PP bleeding and cramping. I had my C section 2 weeks ago and bled for about 5 days, then had discharge for another 2 days. It has been completley gone for the last week.

I woke up cramping really bad early this morning, and when I went to the bathroom the toilet was full of blood. I am still cramping pretty bad and using a pad every 3-4 hours. Sorry for TMI, but the blood is sort of brownish, so I am wondering if it is just old blood? Is it normal for bleeding to start up again after being gone for a week? Could this be my period already? Has anyone alse had this happen to them, I am kind of worried.
