When I tried to slow down the frequency of my pumping sessions, regardless of when my son would nurse, my supply would drop since pumping isn't as effective at removing milk as a baby. Some people have no trouble but I did so maybe be careful but give it a try and see what happens.

I don't think it matters to have a schedule either. I think whatever works best for you is fine. Since she's not doing the actually sucking, she's not regulating what you produce.

I think if you can and want to pump every 2.5 hours that would be fine, but if you want to be more on her schedule 3 is fine too. I don't think that will make too much of a difference.

LO is 9 1/2 months old, and has went from eating every 2 1/2 hours to eating every 3 hours now. I was pumping on schedule with her feedings while at work and was getting about 1.25-1.5 oz per breast at each session. I'm still able to pump enough to cover what she's eating while I'm away, although I've went from making 5 bottles a day, to only making 4. I'm still pumping every 2 1/2 hours and am only getting 1 oz per breast now. Is it better to keep pumping every 2 1/2 hours, or should I move to pumping when she eats to keep my body on a schedule?
