My ice packs go in the freezer when I get home. When I get to work I put the ice packs in the freezer in the mini fridge. After I pumped I put the milk in the fridge. Then it all goes into the bag with ice packs home with me at night.

At my current job there is just one gross communal fridge. When I got to work I put the ice packs in the freezer so that they stayed the most frozen till I needed them. After my first pump I put everything in my pump bag with ice packs till I go home.

I put my ice packs in the freezer each night. I pumped twice a day at work. When I got to work, I'd keep my pump bag (and cooler bag) at my desk. When I'd go pump in the morning I'd take my pump bag and cooler bag to the mothers room and leave the pump bag in my locker in the mothers room and my cooler bag in the fridge.

After I pumped the second time, I'd bring the pump bag and cooler bag back to my desk. The milk was still very cold when I got home.

You might want to try it a few different ways to figure out what works best for you.

@swedishfish: sorry to thread jack but did only pumping once a day hurt your supply? I go back to work in march and am hoping to only pump once a day. I leave around 730 so will pump/nurse before I leave and get home between 3:30-4. Did you find once a day hurt your supply? I travel around to different schools each day and it's going to be hard to find time to pump. I am only working three day a week so will be EBF 4 days a week.

I keep my milk and ice packs in the cooler bag that came with the pump. So far it keeps everything really cool. I keep my pump parts in a mini fridge so I don't have to wash multiple times a day.

I don't have a mini fridge available--just a big shared one that's always packed and kind of gross. I just keep my pumped milk in the cooler bag with the ice pack it came with.

@lawbee11: i teach and have a mini fridge in my room. When I arrive in the morning I put my freezer pack in the freezer part. I get my bag ready and take to the office because I pump in our staff room in the morning. When I am done, I bring everything back and put it in the fridge. When I pump in the afternoon, I pump in my room and I put everything back in the fridge when done. I pack up everything in the cooler at the end of the day.

I keep everything in the fridge until my last pump around 2:30ish. I leave at 4 so after that pump I leave the cooler bag on my desk till quitting time.

I only pumped once a day at work but I put my cooler bag (along with ice packs) in the freezer in a faculty room when I got to school every morning. After I pumped I just left the bag on the desk in my office or I'd forget to bring it home. The bottles stayed cold. I pumped at 11:30 and got home between 3:20-4.

My pump came with one of those cooler bags and ice packs. I am planning to keep the ice packs in the freezer each night at home. We have a lactation room at work and there is also a mini fridge in there. I am planning to pump into storage bags. So should I keep the bags in the fridge then put them in the cooler with ice packs at the end of the day? Or should I keep them in the cooler all day? Or I could even keep them in the cooler with the ice packs and keep that entire thing in the fridge (as opposed to at my desk)?

What do you think would be best? Does it even matter? Just trying to get my pumping logistics figured out!
