I think it also depends on the age of the baby for all these "rules". A premie baby or a young newborn, you should probably err on the side of caution and not reheat. Once my daughter was a bit older we had no problem saving for later.

Another option is to see if they would take it cold later on so you don't have re heat.

my son's like that. but we try again after like 10 min and he starts eating again. if he has only an ounce or less leftover, we offer it to my girl lol. otherwise, we toss it. once it's warned up, i don't feel comfy enough to put it back in the fridge and warm it up again. i think ms. mini said the nicu nurses toss after an hour. so my rule of thumb is i try to use it by an hour - hour and half. toss afterwards.

if your LO keeps doing that, i'd offer an ounce at a time or something. i'd feel more comfy leaving it out longer if the baby didn't feed out of the bottle.

@winniebee: I've given my LO warmed up and left over milk that I put back in the fridge. As long as it's within a couple of hours I think it's fine!

I think it depends on if it was refrigerated and reheated before use? In which case no? If it was at room temp the whole time then I think yes.

Agree with @chopsuey119, offer at next feeding, toss if leftover after 2 feedings.

If you make a 3oz bottle of breast milk and the baby drinks 1oz, can you reuse the rest of that milk later? Or do you have to toss it?
