I use a scraper. But everything just goes in the wetbag at the change, and then I scrape before it goes in the wash, but I wash every night so its not like it sits a few days. We just change the kids on a pad on the floor.

@birdofafeather: "I'm nervous to start solids because I don't want to deal with the poop change!"

Ugh, me too! I don't want to deal with cleaning the diaper off OR the smell. Holding off a little longer...

Same as above. When we're home, I just set it aside, finish changing her, then set her on the floor to play while I spray it out. The bathroom is attached to her room, so it's not a journey.

When we're out of the house it's a little more of a workout. We use the liners outside the house, so once I get her changed, I pick her up and hold her (nowhere to put her in a public restroom!) while I flush the liner, clean up the changing table and pack up the diaper bag. I still haven't figured out a more efficient way to do this. :P

I change him on the floor and leave him there while I spray the diaper. We leave the diaper pail in the bathroom now too.

I place it on top of the toilet and deal with it at nap or when they're busy with something else.

Eh, I change him on the living room floor (he's WAY too mobile for the changing table), so I just let him play on the floor diaper-less for a minute or two while I shake if off into the toilet (we have a sprayer...but our toilet doesn't have the extra attachment bit...or something...)

Anyway, it gives him a chance to air out (and we're in a small apartment right now so I'm no more than 15 steps away).

@jackieomy: Dang it, I wish I hadn't thrown that tub thing away now!

@aprk: I've thought about doing that, too, once he gets a little bigger. Seems like it might be the easiest way.

It's nice to know you don't have to do it immediately!

I'm another liner user and I strongly recommend them! Seriously, it's so wonderful to just be able to flush it down the toilet and be done. But to answer your question, I usually just set the diaper on top of the diaper pail (well, trash can in our case) and deal with it when I get a sec.

We use the flushable liners too. So I get LO rediapered and redressed and do the flushing and storing of the diaper after.

I had this question too! I plan to just change diapers in the bathroom in the floor. He's getting too mobile on the changing table already.

I usually drop the poopy diaper into a plastic tub (the one we got from the hospital that had all my postpartum supplies in it!) and then, once LO is cleaned up and has a new diaper on, take him and the tub (with the diaper) into the bathroom to spray. I usually put the diaper back in the tub to transport it to the wet bag, so I'm not dripping on the floor.

DH puts the diaper in the plastic tub and then sometimes remembers to take it to spray it.

I just set the dirty diaper aside until finished with LO and then take care of the dirty diaper when LO is in a safe room.

So I know once A starts eating solids we will need to spray or shake the poop out of his cloth diapers before we throw them in the dirty diaper bag. My question is - when/how do you do this and leave baby in a safe place? I don't want to just leave him chillin' on the changing table while I clean up. I am confused on the logistics of it.

What do you do?
