I get up first and shower and get dressed. DH gets up and changes LO, starts LO's breakfast. I take over after I have eaten mine. We leave the house at 8, DH a little after. I pack LO's bag the night before and just add bottles ( filled with water, formula in separate dispenser).

we only live a block and a half from out daycare, so our commute is only a couple minutes! We can drop Charlie off any time between 8-9am. If he wakes up super early, we drop him off early. if he wakes up late, we drop him off late. he loves hanging out with us in the mornings.

Having husbands help is great. I think the hardest part is packing the bags and carrying it all out to the car. It helped us to have a list of what to pack at first.

Pump bag - pump, charger, 6 bottles, 6 lids
Day care bag - diapers if needed, sleep sack, 2 changes of clothes, bulb and saline for her nose
Food bag - 3-4 bottles ready to go with name and date and now three containers of solids all on ice packs

Thanks so much for posting your schedules - it really gives me a better idea of what I need to do. DH and I work at the same company so we'll be leaving the house together. I'm really glad to see that your husbands will help get things together while you feed/pump - great idea!

I'm so sad that I have to go back to work, but at least I'll be a little more prepared.

@BabyBoecksMom: Waking them up is kinda unavoidable for us. It helps us to have both of us leave for work at the same time so I can have my husbands help.

I get up between 5:30-5:45
Husband packs bags (day care bag, pump bag, etc and puts in the car)
Get baby up about 6:15
Leave the house 6:30
Arrive and get checked into daycare 6:45
Nurse LO at daycare and I leave at 7:05
Get to work about 7:30.

When we started a bedtime routine before I went back to work we made sure to arrange it to fit the schedule we'd need for work/daycare. I get up at 5am and start getting ready and husband and baby sleep until around 5:30 or 5:45am. If baby wakes early, my husband gets up and changes him and when I was nursing would bring him to me or occupy him until I was ready. We'd nurse around 5:50 or 6am while my husband would prepare the bag of pumped milk, diapers, extra clothes, etc for him. We'd dress him and then out the door by 6:30am. We'd make it to daycare at 7am and I'd be at work around 7:20am. My son goes down for sleep at night at 6 or 6:30pm.

DS usually sleeps until sometime between 5:30 and 7:00. If he wakes early, he'll sometimes go back to sleep for a while. DH leaves for work by 7:05am and I have to leave by 7:20am.

When I first returned to work, I was breastfeeding DS and pumping at work. The night before I would pack his daycare bag and my pump bag. I'd lay his clothes out, my clothes out and shower at night.

6:30 wake up, contacts, bathroom, etc...
6:40 nurse DS
7:00 change DS and get him dressed.
7:10 get dressed
7:15 take bags to car
7:20 leave the house with DS

Eventually I started pumping before nursing him and ended up just going in to work about 10-15 minutes later each day. I had a huge am supply, so it helped me pump an extra 6-8 ounces a day and he was still full after nursing.

Is there a place at daycare where you can nurse once you arrive, that way you don't have to wake him so early? You can get ready and get everything in the car, then wake him and go. Also, there were days where DS slept until it was time to leave, and I'd just take him in his pajamas and they'd change his clothes there.

Charlie usually is up by 7:15 at the latest. If he's sleeping in consistently, then we'll maybe move his bedtime up!

It doesn't take too long to get Charlie ready for school, as long as his lunch was packed the night before (that's the biggest timesink by far!!). The tricky part is that he doesn't like to leave the house until he's had some time to enjoy the morning... if we just ship him out 20 minutes after he wakes up, he will usually let his displeasure be known!

I have had to wake him up a few times. I did find that putting him to bed a little earlier helped him get more sleep, kids wake-up times are generally fairly hard-wired once they get on a schedule.

Usually it goes something like this.

5:45/6:00 - Wake-up, pump, shower, get ready, make bottles, pack bags, etc. (I really should do more of this at night)

7:45 - Wake-up LO, feed him, get him dressed. Some days we play, depending on if I'm bringing him to daycare or hubs is.

8:30 - I leave if husband has daycare duty and head to work. If I am doing daycare drop-off, then I generally try to leave about 8:10 and I can get to work by about 9:00. Though my timing is flexible.

I know that doesn't sound great but we are not in a hurry honestly and I could definitely do things faster if I wanted, but because I pump before he eats, I like to make sure there is enough time in between.

Any chance your husband would be up for drop-off duty? I really like that he does drop-off most days and I get to pick-up and see a smiling face when I get there because he's happy to see me!

Best case scenario is that we both wake up and get ready before Wagon Jr. wakes up, but these days we've been being lazy and waking up as soon as he wakes up. Then we scramble to get ready before we go get him.

Usually it goes something like this:

6:45am: Wagon Jr. wakes up and cries for a bit, rolls around in his crib, sings to himself. Wagon Sr. gets up, lets the dogs out, and cooks Wagon Jr.'s eggs. I get up and take a shower.
7:00am: I get out of the shower, Wagon Sr. showers and gets ready for work. I get ready for work.
7:15am: Wagon Sr. goes to get Wagon Jr. (if he's not awake by now we do wake him up), changes his diaper, gets him dressed and brings him downstairs to feed him breakfast. I finish getting ready for work.
7:30am: Wagon Sr. loads Wagon Jr. into the car with his backpack and lunch. We both run around grabbing our own breakfast and lunches.
7:40am: We drop off Wagon Jr. at daycare and drive to work.

yes, unfortunately, if the LO isn't up then i have to wake her up for daycare.

perhaps you can put your LO to bed earlier so that she'll have enough rest if she needs to be woken up?

What time do you have to be at work? Generally, I had to leave the house about 45 minutes before I need to be at work. That gave me about 10 minutes to drive to daycare, 10-15 minutes to get DD settled at daycare, and 15 minutes to drive to work.

Our schedule looks something like this:
6:00 am - I get up and get ready, eat breakfast, and get all of DD's stuff together.
7:00 am - DD gets up. DH gets her dressed/hair brushed/teeth brushed.
7:15 am - We need to leave the house for daycare; DD eats something (yogurt, banana, etc...) in the car.
7:30-ish - We get DD settled in at daycare (she eats again at 8 with her daycare provider)
7:45 am - The very latest I can leave daycare and still make it to work on time.

I go back to work on Monday :-(

I want to see what you schedules are like in the morning so I can prepare myself for getting out the door in the mornings.

Currently, she'll sleep from around 9pm to 7:30am (waking once to feed around 4 or 5am). I really don't want to wake her if I can help it - is that unavoidable?

ETA: My work is pretty flexible about when I come in, but they would like me to be there by 8am. The daycare is about 20 min from the house and about 15 minutes from work.
