@PrincessBaby: Another option would be getting a few regular headbands and removing the bands on the ones you own and attaching clips to the back of them. I did that to quite a few and generally prefer to buy her hair stuff as clips now because it's a PITA.

They make the bands in a lot of styles, crocheted, wide lace, skinny lace, nylon, etc.

When we get to that point, I'm just going to get some plain cream elastic, cut off the small elastic, glue it to the back with felt to protect her head!

@PrincessBaby: you could probably skip the sewing and the extension elastic piece. So just cut the elastic and hot glue them to a piece of felt to put on the back of the rosette, I'm not sure if it would last (because that only gives an inch or two of room) but I'll try it with one of my newborn headbands and let you know how it goes!

@HLK208: i was hoping you would see this! .I figured you had a trick! Thank you:). So let me ask a lame-ola question....Do you think I could just glue elstic instead of sewing? We have so many- I am not excited about sewing, lol

@PrincessBaby: what I would do is cut the elastic, sew an extension elastic piece (that doesn't have to match) then cover it all with hot glue and place felt over it. You can cut the felt to the shape of the rosette and no one can tell. I have about 200 headbands that I probably have to do this with lol. Or, you can add a clip to the back instead so it would no longer be a headband but you can use them for awhile that way.

@PrincessBaby: I think it would really just need a few tiny stitches to stay. Just make sure you have extra strong thread, maybe double it up, and then just do three or so little stitches and it should stay! It's ok if the stitches are kind of on top of each other, just as long as it felt like it was holding tight when you pull.

@MrsSCB: I just don't know how I'd sew something that skinny! Any thoughts?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: All the bands match the .rosettes exactly in color. Sooooo that would be a pita to match up!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: That's what I would do! I generally make P's headbands and it's really easy to make them.... of course I just make her simple bows, but the headband is universal.

I haven't been able to find skinny elastic in the store but here's an etsy shop I saw on a diy blog.

What about just buying elastic from the craft store and taking the rosettes off and putting them on new elastic?

Could you cut them apart in the middle of the back and then sew each end to another small piece of elastic? So it'll stretch a little more when you fit it around her head? I wish I could draw a diagram on here, I hope that makes sense, haha.

Does anyone have any tricks for extending the elastic band so that I can use them longer? H has a million cute headbands with the skinny band, and I don't want to have to reorder all of them in the next size!

She wears ones like this:
