olive gets 6oz in her bedtime bottle. she gets 4-5 ounces in her daytime bottle. neither she nor charlie increased their intake from around 3-4 months on. it was exclusive breastmilk.

@Sammyfab: My LO tends to eat a bunch at night (always has). We'll give her a 3 oz bottle before her bath and then a 4 oz bottle a little after her bath. So, 7 oz in about 1-2 hours.

Awesome ladies! Thanks so much! I don't mind supplementing with formula but if I can give a full bottle of breastmilk I'd rather do that.

Another question, how many ounces do you give your LOs for their bedtime bottle?

I read that somewhere too but honestly, it's way too much to keep track of amongst everything else we have to do. I mix milk all the time and we use frozen. I only mark the date, not morning, afternoon or evening. As long as your LO is growing and gaining weight, I think you'll be fine.

LO doesn't get a nighttime bottle, but I wouldn't worry about your LO drinking milk from different times. I pump before I go to bed, in the middle of the night, in the morning, and at work so LO gets milk mixed from all different times and we haven't had any issues.

I pump during the day and can't remember which one was made when, so I'm pretty sure she gets some morning milk in her night bottle.

the milk you pump at the end of the day is supposed to be more nutrient dense so that when your lo nurses they are drinking less milk (since you're producing less as the day goes on), but they're still getting as much nutrients.

that is way too much to keep track of. Olive drinks milk I pumped in the morning at night all the time. Plus she drinks frozen milk and that's usually mixed from 2 different pumping sessions. I wouldn't worry about it if it were me! :)

Huh, I've never heard that before. I pump everyday while I'm at work and after E goes to bed and that's what he eats at daycare the next day. The milk from each pumping session usually gets combined to make up the correct number of ounces in each bottle, so he could be getting a combo of morning, afternoon and evening milk.

Would you give your LO milk that you pumped in the morning in their nighttime bottle?

LO is EBF and we give him a bottle every night to make sure he doesn't go on a bottle strike! I only pump 3-4 oz at night so we supplement with formula if we need to in order to make a 6oz bottle.

Lately I have been pumping in the morning because LO is not draining one of my boobs and I get 3-4 oz from one boob alone! I've read about how there are different properties in daytime vs evening breastmilk (e.g. Related to cortisol production, trytophan, etc.) and giving daytime milk may 'keep your baby up.'

Thoughts? Experiences?
