I didn't really have any of the "normal" pregnancy symptoms.... I just had a "feeling".... I didn't have sore boobs, I had spotting but since stopping BC I always had spotting a few days before AF started......I knew I should test when I ate some chili cheese hotdogs and woke up in the the middle of the night with the worse case of heartburn I have ever had... sure enough I got a BFP ... I was like 10 DPO?

My *only* pregnancy symptom was really really sore BB's.
I honestly had no idea I was PG until the sore BB's convinced me to take a test. Turns out I was almost 2 months pregnant.

Even though my symptoms were very similar to my premenstrual symptoms, I just felt a little different somehow. I had sore breasts, that started a little earlier than usual and lasted long beyond my BFP. I had a dull crampy ache and occasional diarrhea that I also associated with premenstrual cramps. I had no headache, though I usually get one before my period. I also had some implantation bleeding so I convinced myself my period was on it's way but I still felt different. I tested at 10DPO and got a very faint positive, then again at 12DPO and 14DPO and got definite BFPs. Good Luck!

I got a BFN 5 days before my missed AF and on the morning AF was due I got the faintest BFP.
I started spotting a week later and freaked but was told after an ultrasound that it was implantation bleeding. It was scary.
My advice would be to not test too early. That's what I did and it made me have a complete breakdown over yet another negative when in fact I was JUST pregnant like that week.
My "symptoms" now that I look back were exhaustion, diarrhea and sore boobs (which at almost 12 weeks I'm still dealing with) The nausea didn't hit me until around week 7.

The TWW is brutal. Try your best to relax. I think others have mentioned but the first week after ovulation is usually too early for symptoms, although I know when i was waiting I couldn't help but notice every random thing.

I generally don't have too many premenstrual symptoms, and have pretty easy periods.
That said, I *knew* I was pregnant at 10 dpo because I was so tired. It was either that or I was dying. It was beyond tired- it felt like I was wearing a lead vest like at the dentist for x-rays all over my body. I have never felt like that before.
I then started noticing some breast tenderness.
I didn't get a positive test until 13 dpo, and had a couple negative tests before that.

Try to relax! I know thats an obnoxious thing to say, and I was never able to do it- but maybe try some yoga or other intentional relaxation technique (meditation, walks, etc) & try to keep your mind off it.

@oliviaoblivia: OK thanks!

@ladyfingers: totally makes sense re- progesterone due to AF and pregnancy.

everyone- thanks again, i really appreciate it! I'll keep you all posted. i'm already debating skipping the gym at lunch and buying an HPT to take in the bathroom stall.

and so it begins......

I totally get it. Keep in mind that a lot of pregnancy symptoms mimic AF symptoms -- especially boob pain. Your boobs are sore pre-period because of all the progesterone. Same reason they're sore in early pregnancy.

But! I also felt a really dull pain/pressure on my left lower abdomen, which I believe turned out to be implantation pain (I was feeling it at CD8 and I tested + on CD10, and the baby implanted on my left side per the ultrasound). I was so so beyond exhausted, beyond anything else I had ever felt before. So there's that.

Hang in there! Symptom spotting is hard NOT to do, and I was never successful. Just try not to make yourself (and DH) TOO crazy :) Also keep in mind that a lot of stuff like nausea, etc. is just too early to have at 1 DPO. The baby's not even implanted yet, much less your body producing pregnancy hormones! So take it easy as much as possible :)

@MrsLilybugg: I tested mid-afternoon at 11DPO and it was there but faint. Got a positive digital the next morning.

ETA: that was about five days before AF was due. I had loooooong LPs.

For me, BFP symptoms were not a deviation from the norm. I tended to have sore breasts about half the time with my period and the month I got my BFP, my breasts became sore at about 10 dpo and stayed that way for about a week. Looking back I could see other 'symptoms' but they really weren't anything extraordinary. Just now I reviewed the notes I took at the time and saw that on 8dpo I actually wrote: "Frankly, I don't feel like I'm pg this month." Then on 14 dpo I got a BFP!

Thank you SO MUCH everyone! I've been walking around all week, almost in a daze, too afraid to really think about these strange things I've been feeling ("are these twinges in my uterus indigestion? it has to be, I could never be so lucky...") I felt those up until yesterday. Crossing my fingers! I mean, this whole year our issue was low morphology (his count was fine). Now that it's fine, hopefully we can get our BFP soon!!!

@oliviaoblivia: I'm thinking that even though I vowed to myself that I wouldn't use those Dollar Store HPTs that have been mocking me on the kitchen table, that maybe tomorrow morning would be safe? I figure, if no AF, tomorrow would be CD 24, making it four days before the latest date-range of AF. I have potentially until MOnday October 15 for AF to arrive within my typical range. AGH.

you know, i've always thought that the dollar store HPTs don't really work. I used their OPKs and they never gave me a positive, even though the digital one gave me a smiley. Maybe I should splurge and wait til the 15th for a digital test?

My only real symptom that was unusual was being exhausted. Other than that most of my symptoms were "normal" or started after I would have been late. I really think your never out until Diablo shows up. It's so different for every woman. I always assume that maybe it will be easier to spot with a second pregnancy since you know how your body reacts to pregnancy then, but who knows?!

Good luck! The only symptom I had before BFP was was...(TMI) diarrhea. But I hear sore boobs is a common one! I would try to quit symptom spotting, which I know is impossible...so all I can say is good luck when you do test! Just because you get a negative the first time doesn't mean it won't be positive a few days later. :)

If it helps, I always experienced soreness in my chest right before my period too, but when I got my positive test, I was also experiencing it. I know for some people they have different symptoms when newly pregnant than they usually do during the TWW, but mine were nearly identical. Looking back, I can see that I was more tired than usual and having some nausea, but at the time, it was mild enough that it was easily attributable to other things. So - I wouldn't say that you're out :) I know it's tough but give it a few more days. I tested at 4 days past ovulation and got a negative (was experiencing very high temps which can/usually mean pregnancy), then tested again at 11 days past, and had a very clear/dark positive test. Good luck!!! :)

A lot of bees have mentioned that when they got their BFP's they also experienced similar symptoms as if AF was impending. While you're not out until she shows up, there is a chance that you could be! I'm a POAS fanatic so I'd say test despite the chance of stark white staring back at you (booo), but there's also a chance it might not be stark white.... :) Good luck to you either way!

I promised myself I would not start this up again (stalking hellobee, obsessing with cycle days, etc., ha ha!) buuuut:

I’ve had a few symptoms that I am finding hard to ignore/dismiss. I’ve learned my lessons with symptom spotting (see blog, link in bio), but these are different. I’m too paranoid to really voice them all for fear of jinxing and disappointment, but one sign (not symptom, since I promised I would stop trying to “symptom spot”) is the fact that my mother-in-law saw me last weekend and exclaimed that I have a “glow”, and that “there might be something going on with you that you don’t know about yet” (while gesturing around my stomach region.) This was week one of my TWW. She’s always been good with intuition, and predicting things with dreams. If she is right about this, then I am sold on her “powers”, but I’m too afraid to be hopeful…

So the one thing that is making me afraid that she is wrong is the fact that my boobs are always outrageously sore right before my period, and they have been outrageously sore all week. I am on CD 23 right now. My cycles average with Day 1 starting between CD22 and CD 28. So, I am either late, or a few days away from AF (sigh).

I’ve correlated sore BBs with impending AF, since it seems to me that usually BFPs occur with a DEVIATION of NORMAL AF symptoms. A deviation of normal symptoms would also be dizziness, nausea, etc., something I am also NOT experiencing out of the blue. So in my mind: typical sore BBs, and NOT feeling dizzy etc. = AF around the corner. Am I really out already?

I know it sounds like I’m over-thinking things, but I’m really at a loss right now. I’m closing in on the one-year mark, and even though my husband’s morphology is now in normal range (YAY-NESS), I’m still feeling like I’m hitting some sort of mark in my TTC timeline. Oh, and am too scared to test and see stark-whiteness. Thanks if you’re read this far, any words of encouragement helps!
