We have an upholstered platform bed frame that matches the headboard. I don't like high beds with box springs so a lower platform bed is perfect for us.

Thanks everybody! We will have a bedskirt, so it sounds like my plan will work perfectly :)

Yes. We have a medal frame from Costco and our upholstered headboard just screws into holes it had at the top.

We made an upholstered headboard when we upgraded to a king size mattress and just went with the cheapie metal bedframe the mattress store threw in. We got a flat bed skirt so you can't see it, and bought wooden bed risers to make it a little higher to give the look we wanted since the frame was a little low. I'd originally wanted to get a fully upholstered frame but it was so much cheaper to do the metal frame/bed skirt!

We have a West Elm headboard and a metal frame. We just have a skirt to hide it.

Thanks @sunshineandsushi & @ValentineMommy! I was thinking the metal bed frame would be fine as well!! :)

We have a thick, dark wood bed frame from West Elm and a leather upholstered headboard, which is also West Elm. I would think a metal frame would be fine, especially if you have a bedskirt or something.

We just have the metal frame with our upholstered headboard. We had the frame already, so I wanted to save some $ by just getting the headboard.

Do you just have a metal bed frame for the mattress to sit on and headboard to connect to?

My husband broke our bed last night. I was looking at this gorgeous upholstered headbord on Joss and Main last night, but that's all it is, just a headboard. Should I just get a metal bed frame to go along with it and call it a day?
