Excellent. She gets three bottles a day at day care and we'll try to do one a day on the weekends. Thanks guys!

Nope. I weaned after a few weeks from the shield but she has never had a problem going between boob, bottle and now straw cup.

I weaned from the nipple shield when LO was three months and she started refusing bottles when she was 5-6 months. I don't think there was a correlation. We just didn't offer bottles often enough.

Nope, no problems, but we also reinforced with a bottle every single day to avoid having problems.

I think A's bottle refusal started before then but to be honest I'm not 100% sure on the dates of ditching the shield and bottles becoming devil food to her so maybe they were related... I would just be careful to not go a day without a bottle and you should be okay. Great job to M on the shield weaning!

My LO seems to be weaning herself from the nipple shield which is so wonderful!! However, I always figured the nipple shield may have had something to do with her willingness to easily switch between breast and bottle. When your LO weaned from the shield did you have issues with bottle refusal? That's really just not an option for us since she's in day care!
