Our LO slept on the newborn napper for about 3 months. He slept there overnight, naps, etc. We had no issues with it. He was a preemie (4.5 lbs), so we were able to use it for a long time.

We used the newborn napper when visiting DH's family. I thought it was very sturdy. It was the first time she slept longer than five hours, so I have fond memories. The changing table was pretty useless - we just used the bed. Also, when we visited again at Easter and LO was about 2.5 mo old, she was almost too big for it and she's a pretty petite gal.

At home she sleeps in the crib in her room. Now, for the first two weeks or so, I slept on the couch in the nursery, but that's another story....

I've read cautions against using the napper unsupervised (in Baby Bargains as mentioned above and possibly elsewhere, but don't remember exactly) so we got one without that feature. It was hard to find though, most of them seem to come with the napper.

We registered for a similar one (different color) and never really used the newborn napper or changer. If I were to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't even register for a PnP that had those.

A friend recommended this to me a while ago and I kind of disregarded it since we have such a small apartment, but now reading these responses I am going to put a version of this on our registry. I'm thinking that before we even assemble our wooden crib, we'll use this either in our room or the baby's room (depending on if we have family visiting since we only have a two bedroom apartment) then eventually as a real pack and play out in the living room to contain the baby when we need a break and he refuses to nap. I just don't know which one to register for, there's one with an actual portable basinnet, but I don't think we need that since the entire thing looks easy to move in and out of rooms. Some of them don't have as much storage as others though and storage for us is key!

I never used mine. My son was pretty big baby (almost 10 lbs and 23 inches) so he was almost too big for it from the get-go. We never really used the changing table thing for that reason either. We used the RNP from the first day through about 5 months- once my son was swaddled he just slept better in it. He was never much of a fan of sleeping in the PNP for some reason, even for naps.

It's weird that it seems like no one uses the napper part, yet Buy Buy Baby doesn't even carry the basic one (no napper) in the stores! I registered for the basic one on Amazon because I plan to use a Rock and Play in the beginning anyway, but Lucie's List made me second guess. I suppose I'm glad I went with the cheaper one then.

I bought my sister the napper and changer one from her registry for her shower and she ended up returning it for a basic one too.

We have a PNP at grandma's and DD never used the napper or changer. She just slept on the mattress part. I don't think the napper is worth it because they outgrow it so fast!

We have that one, he slept in the napper a few times, but we quickly switched to just the flat mattress. The two attachments we barely used.

We hardly used the pnp because DS moved into his own crib at 12 weeks (sttn) and we all slept better this way. We orig planned on keeping him in our room til 6 months, but that didn't happen.

We use the pnp now as his daytime crib while my mom watches him and that's where he naps (mattress)

@.twist.: Did you use the Lucie's List registry guide? If so, we probably have the exact same registry because I pretty much registered for everything she recommended!

@BabyBoecksMom: We have a first-floor master, so I really hope ours isn't a super noisy sleeper because I don't know what's worse--a noisy sleeper or climbing stairs multiple times a night.

@PBandBaseball: Have you set yours up yet? We haven't, so I guess I need to wait and see how sturdy it is, too. I'm paranoid, but it doesn't seem THAT much different than allowing a newborn to sleep in a RNP, and I know lots of people do that!

I have it but I can't give you too much info on it. We had the intention of having her sleep in our room for the first few months, but we moved her into her own bed after the 2nd night home because she was such a noisy sleeper!

I didn't buy it because I was afraid of it. Our lo slept by our bed in a bassinet which was lower than the bassinet part of the pnp. I would just have the baby sleep in the bassinet part. I'm also paranoid. :) I did love the changing table part until she got a little heavy and it tilted sideways.

I didn't register for the one with the newborn napper due to some concerns mentioned in the Baby Bargains book. I know of a bunch of people who used just the bassinet part for baby sleeping so I figured it's not worth wondering/worrying for me! But that's just my 2 cents :) My baby is still cooking so no personal experience behind it.

We registered for and will be getting this PNP (I have been registry stalking and it's been purchased--yay!). We're planning to have our baby sleep in our room in the PNP after she's born. If you have a PNP like this with the newborn napper, does/did your baby sleep in the newborn napper part overnight? Or did you exclusively use it for naps and use the bassinet part for nighttime sleep? I would love for her to be able to sleep in the napper at night because it's close to the height of our bed and would make for easy nighttime feedings, but I am just not sure if it's safe?
