<description>&#60;p&#62;Broken rice was originally a poor farmers food; they'd sell the while grains of rice and be stuck eating the leftover broken grains (like @Alivoo01 said). &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;It actually is more expensive in Viet markets than normal Jasmine rice (usually sold in smaller bags) and the texture/consistency it's definitely different! It's faster to cook, too :)
