Thanks ladies! This gives me some comfort. Isn't TTC just such a mystery? If only we had more control.

The pain doesn't necessarily correlate to the moment you ovulate - it can be before, during, or after, so it's quite possible you were feeling pain after ovulation. Even after O, you still have one or more fluid-filled follicles in your ovaries that need to settle down! Good luck to you!

I had 3 mature follicles on 25mg of femara and 1 on each 100mg cycle of clomid. I read an article that said most women will ovulate about 40 to 44 hours after their HCG trigger shot. So it is possible you felt those pains after your IUI which is good, because you want sperm waiting when the egg is released.

Good Luck :goodluck:

I had 1-2 on 50mg of clomid follicles ranging from 18mm-21mm
I triggered at say 10p.m.CD13 then had an IUI CD14 @10.am and another CD15 @10 a.m. my RE does back to back, but I hear as long as the IUI is 36hrs after trigger you should be good :) Even if you ovulated a little later, you have good sperm there for that egg!! Best of luck!!!!!!

I had two maturing follicles on 50 mg of Clomid but I didn't use a trigger shot during my IUI cycle.

I did use an IM trigger shot during my IVF cycle. As far as I know trigger shots are given 36 hours before IUI or egg retrieval. So your timing matches up. Hopefully your RE timed things correctly!

I did 100mg Clomid, first round with trigger I had 3 follicles, 20mm, and 2@ 18mm. Second time I had 1 dominate follicle @20mm and the next one was 17mm. That is the same timeline that my doc uses, an IUI 36 hours after trigger. I'm worried about ovulating late also. My LP is normally 14 or 15 days and that second cycle, my period started 16 days after the IUI so I'm worried it was a day too early.

Hi Ladies...

I have a couple questions, so thought I'd put them together in one post.

First, if you used injectable meds (or Clomid/Femera) with IUI, how many maturing follicles did you have before your trigger and what were their sizes?

Second, how accurate are HCG trigger shots? I had mine on Sunday, (the 20th) at 10PM and my IUI was Tuesday (the 22nd) morning at 10:45. However, I felt some ovulation type pains in my ovaries on Wednesday and Thursday. I'm SO worried that I may have ovulated later than Tuesday. We didn't BD at all after the IUI because I was feeling really crampy and just not up to it. I did check my Clearblue Fertility monitor on Monday night and it read as PEAK, so maybe I really did ovulate on Tuesday. I'm confused.

Thoughts?
