Update: I had my 28 week appointment/exam and my complete previa moved to a marginal previa. I'm hoping it will continue to move so I can be cleared for a vaginal delivery.

1) What kind did you have (complete, partial, marginal)?
Just was diagnosed with a complete previa at 16 weeks.

2) If you were on pelvic rest, what all did that include/what restrictions did you have?
Due to having 2 bleeding episodes already, I'm on modified bed rest, pelvic rest, and I'm taking a medical leave from my teaching job. I'm not allowed any heavy lifting, no sex, no standing for more than an hour. This is lovely news considering I have an almost 2.5 year old.

3) Did it resolve itself? If so, when?
We'll see! My doctor said complete previas are less likely to move, but I hoping for a miracle! Otherwise I'll have a C-section at 37 weeks.

I had a low lying placenta at around 21 weeks that had resolved itself by 29. I never had any issues or restrictions because of it.

I found out at 20 weeks that I had a complete previa. I was put on pelvic rest (no sexual intercourse, no heavy lifting or intense exercise). They di a transvaginal u/s at 28 weeks and it had not moved. by 32 weeks it had moved to partial previa, and pelvic rest order lifted, but not cleared for vaginal delivery I will be 36 weeks tomorrow and have another scan Thurs to see if things have moved. So hoping them have; if not I will have a C/S at 39 weeks.

I didn't have to stay on bed rest
3) Did it resolve itself? If so, when?
Yes, by 32 weeks

@Alivoo01: It *may* have resolved by 24 weeks because I did have another scan then for other reasons, but now I just can't remember if it was 24 or 28 weeks, so I said 28 to be safe ; )

@Alivoo01: I know!! I should add though, make sure you get them to check via TV u/s because until 35 weeks they didn't, and when they finally did it had resolved. I do wonder if it had resolved much sooner than that...

@sslm: 35 weeks?! oh man!! I was diagnosed at 18 weeks so 35 weeks is like eternity. lol. I mean, I'm glad it resolved itself, but man... Talk about suspense until the very end!

@mauxie: Mine is currently <2cm. I should ask if as long as I have at least a 2cm clearance at time of delivery if it's okay...

@winniebee: 28 weeks. I like the sound of that better than SSLM's 35 week. lol. I know everyone's different, but I'd definitely feel better if it resolved itself the sooner rather than later.

@gingerbebe: OMG!! I have a vacation scheduled to Costa Rica at the beginning of December. I'll need to make sure I tell my OB at my appt next week to obtain clearance. That would suck if I have to cancel bc I'm not sure I can... Ahhhh!!!!! I've had previous losses too so now I'm nervous. Maybe (fingers crossed I'm lucky), it might have resolved by my appt next week and all is well???? I'll be 23 weeks next week.

@GreenThumb: That's awesome your complete previa moved!!!

I had complete previa found at 20 weeks. I was on total pelvic rest described above and was told to expect a c-section at 39 weeks. Monthly U/S showed that it moved by 34 weeks (it got a little better with each scan) and I was cleared for vaginal delivery.

I had a complete previa. I was on total pelvic rest until my 28 week scan (no sex, stimulation, very light workouts, no lifting over 10 pounds). If I bled before 25 weeks my dr was going to put me on total bed rest and if after 25 weeks hospitalized until delivery and was told not to go anywhere outside the county. In fact my doctor wanted me 15 minutes away from a hospital at all times. But he was super careful because we had previous losses and he knew I was freaked out. It moved by the 28 week scan and I was cleared for normal delivery.

I was told I had it at my 12 wk appt but don't know if it's marginal or partial (definitely not complete). I probably should find out...

I've had my 20 week and it's still too low, so I have another ultrasound scheduled at 32 weeks to check... I haven't been told to go on pelvic rest though, and have not had any spotting.

My OB says as long as I have 2cm clearance from my cervix, I don't have to schedule a c-section. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I technically had a diagnosis at my 12-week ultrasound, but they didn't put me on pelvic rest and they didn't tell me if it was complete, partial, or marginal. By my 20-week ultrasound, it had completely resolved itself and I have no restrictions.

I had a complete that never resolved. It started bleeding at 35 weeks and I was on bed rest until my doctors decided to do a RCS at 36 weeks. I had a delivery in a high risk setting and they had to cut through my placenta.

@Alivoo01: I had a low-lying placenta (I think it was considered marginal?) and was not on pelvic rest except for a couple of weeks following a little bit of spotting. I periodically went for u/s until FINALLY at 35 weeks it had resolved itself.
