@FliegepilzHut: thank you so much. The nurse practitioner told me to wait at least a couple of cycles to grieve, but the de said one cycle was fine. I think emotionally its different for everyone. While one couple might be ready to try again immediately, another might need six months. At this point, we are going to go with the DD's advice and wait one cycle, but that could always change once we reach that point.

@ladybee: thank you. It's crazy how many people this happens to.

Our first pregnancy was a missed mc as well. I had a d&c and was told to wait one cycle. My first cycle was 40+ days and they got longer and longer due to PCOS but my doctor did test my progesterone my next pregnancy. My numbers were good so I didn't need supplements. Good luck love, I'm so sorry.

@Zbug: I just wanted to express how sorry I am for your loss. My husband's and my first pregnancy ended very similarly, with a "missed m/c" and D+C. I would definitely wait for one "normal" period (which may be delayed while your HCG levels drop and you build a new lining), but especially if that's all your doctor recommends, I don't think there's any reason to wait longer unless you feel you need to from an emotional standpoint. I also don't think this kind of loss should have anything to do with your progesterone levels (although breastfeeding may affect progesterone levels?). Anyway, hopefully that helps. Wishing you the best going forward!

@simplyfelicity: that definitely makes sense.

@Keybee: thanks! I'm really just ready to move on and put this behind me. I'm sad that it didn't work out, but I'm actually doing better than I expected.

@yerpie110: I understand that and guess that I probably feel similarly to how you felt. I'm so happy for you!

@Zbug: I definitely read that as well, and I think in the end, it's what you and your partner feel comfortable with. DH and I were okay with NTNP and felt emotionally ready. We were willing to accept the risks that may have come with it and are certainly grateful that so far, things are working out. Wishing you nothing but the best!!

I'm sorry for your loss!
I did take Vitex after a miscarriage but my cycle was still irregular for awhile so I stopped taking it.
Just take car of yourself! Get some rest and pamper yourself. Give yourself time to mourn, after I got pregnant again I was very fearful of the past repeating. So far so good, but the loss stayed with me more then I thought.
Hugs and good wishes!

@Zbug: Thank you! In regards to waiting, I felt much more comfortable waiting one cycle to build up a lining. Its hard to know how much lining is left after a D&C. Plus, I needed that time to heal more emotionally.

@GoGoSnoGirl: thanks and congrats on your baby!

@simplyfelicity: thank you! I'm hoping to conceive again quickly, so thanks for the hope! Hope you get to meet your LO soon.

@yerpie110: oh wow. I have read conflicting info. One side says it's fine to try right away bc the egg just won't implant if your body isn't ready and the other says you should wait a cycle to give your body a chance to heal. I don't know what to think, but I'm glad it worked for you!

So very sorry to hear about your loss :( I don't have answers to the specific questions you have, I just know how incredibly difficult this time is. Your story is similar to mine - heartbeat at 8 weeks, lost at 9 weeks, d&c at 10 weeks. We had the fetus tested and it ended up being due to a chromosomal abnormality. Our ob recommended waiting one cycle if we wanted to, but didn't insist upon and said that it's the typical recommendation so that it makes dating easier, as most go by your LMP. We chose not to wait and NTNP instead. We ended being pregnant again before my period came back (about 2 maths later) and I am now almost 16 weeks pregnant. I'm still highly anxious and the truth is, i still struggle with the miscarriage. Thinking of you and hoping you'll have your rainbow baby soon  feel free to pm me if you'd like!

@Zbug: First of all, I am so so sorry for your loss. :crying: I don't know anything about progesterone or other supplements for after loss. I had two losses in a row but they were completely different-- one was a CP and the other a blighted ovum diagnosed at 11 weeks (needed a D&C.) My doctor recommended waiting until 3 months but, after a lot of research, I felt comfortable waiting after my first natural AF. I was very fortunate to get pregnant again my first cycle and am now 39 weeks pregnant.
Wishing you all the best! Please feel free to reach out.

@Zbug: I'm sorry for your loss. I don't have any advice since it sounds like you have some specific details you're already getting care for. After my loss (@6w) we ntnp for one cycle before ttc again & got pg in 3 ttc cycles & are now cuddling our 4wk old rainbow baby. I'd just like to say best of luck to you & definitely keep working with your naturopath\Dr since you are bf'g & were on meds for your lp. :goodluck:

I just had a d&c yesterday. I should have been almost 10 weeks, but the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks (a week after we saw a strong heartbeat). I had a sch but the thought it that the loss was probably due to chromosome issues as the sch looked to have dissolved this week.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for getting preggo again after a loss? My dr told us to wait one cycle before starting again.

It seems like many people are put on progrsterone for their next pregnancy. Is this a just in case measure? My progesterone was fine the one time they checked it.

Has anyone used vitex to regulate their cycles after a loss? I was actually taking vitex this time to lengthen my luteal phase (I'm still breastfeeding, which is what likely caused the shorter LP). I stopped taking it once we found out the baby had died, but I'm wondering if I should start again. I'm discussing this with a natropath this week, but I would love if hear if anyone has any insight.

Anything else I should do or know about?

Thank you all so much.
