Answering the first time
4 months
I felt 4 months was the earliest and I hit a breaking point. She was up every 30-90 all night and would take 30-60 to get her down and my marriage, work, and self was suffering.
Nope, I think any sooner she would have been too young
Let her cry, no checks. Said I would feed after 2
Nope
Video monitor, and give it to DH.

What age was your LO when you used CIO? -about 5 months

What made you pick that age? - I was so tired of bouncing and shushing her to sleep and carefully putting her in bed every night and every nap. I'd read 5 months was a good age to try.

Do you wish you had done it sooner or later? It worked so well, maybe we could've tried it sooner.

What method did you use? We just let her cry. It only took 30 min the first night, 20 the second. I'd told myself that if she cried for an hour I'd go soothe her. But she was the type that would have to be picked up to soothe.

Do you wish you had done anything differently? Not really. She's a great sleeper now and loves being in her crib. We really lucked out on that aspect!

Any other thoughts/advice? Just do what feels right to you. You don't have to subscribe compelty to one method. Find what works for you and LO. But also, I think consistency is key.

What age was your LO when you used CIO? 4 months

What made you pick that age? The pediatrician recommended it, because LO was STTN some of the time, but it seemed to be getting less frequent. LO did not seem really hungry when he woke up, just like he wanted comfort.

Do you wish you had done it sooner or later? No.

What method did you use? We were sleeping in the same room. I just stayed in bed and tried not to move.

Do you wish you had done anything differently? I would have moved LO to his own room and done pure extinction. What we did worked for middle of the night wake-ups, but LO started waking up really early and not going back to sleep, sometimes as early as 4:30.

Any other thoughts/advice? LO at most did 20 minutes of on and off fussing. He was really ready, and always seemed like he wanted to STTN.

What age was your LO when you used CIO? 11 Weeks.

What made you pick that age? She was sleeping for longer stretches on her own, she just had trouble getting to sleep without us holding her. We just couldn't do that anymore. Also, we wanted to do it before the four month sleep regression hit, and I think we were right to do so.

Do you wish you had done it sooner or later? Sooner. We have several friends who sleep train their kids around 8 weeks old. I think we'll do it closer to that next time.

What method did you use? Extinction CIO.

Do you wish you had done anything differently? I wish I hadn't been so anxious about it leading up to it. It worked great, she did wonderfully. I truly believe that the timing and style of sleep trianing has more to do with the comfort level of the parents rather than the baby.

Any other thoughts/advice? Be consistent. I think we made sleep training easier on ourselves by having regular nap times during the day and a consistent bedtime every night!

We decided to sleep train at 6 months. L was having crap naps and was cranky all the time so we needed to do something about it!
I feel like it was the right time and my twins slept so much better after.
I wasn't a huge fan of cio, but we chose the sleep sense program since I could still be in the room with them. They were sleeping so much better after a week and even better after a couple weeks.
It was hard to hear them so upset, but it was so nice to have my boys well rested and smiling again!

DS was 10 months, we picked the time out of necessity: the 9 month sleep regression nearly killed us and wreaked havoc on his sleeping habits (which were ok up until that point). I wish we hadn't waited 4 weeks into said regression before cio (although to be fair I was trying the sleep lady shuffle but it wasn't working). We didn't really plan it: one morning at 4:45 am DH said enough is enough and I was too exhausted to disagree so we let him cry. It lasted for 15 minutes, then he fell asleep until the morning. We haven't had sleep issues since so yes, I would do it again and I wouldn't do it differently. Of course it might not work when the next sleep regression comes along and we might have to change tactics then!

What age was your LO when you used CIO? 5 months 3 weeks

What made you pick that age? regressions at 4 and 5 months, transition to crib from RnP. Mommy was really freaking tired and I was OVER IT.

Do you wish you had done it sooner or later? Sooner

What method did you use? Extinction, I think is what it is.

Do you wish you had done anything differently? Nope. It worked beautifully after a week, and E is a magic baby that has never had to be re-sleep trained. It was the best thing ever for us.

Any other thoughts/advice? Good luck if/when you do it :)

My LO is only 7 weeks old so we're not at the CIO stage yet, but since he's eating well and fairly content my new obsession is sleep and sleep training so I'm prepared when that time comes.
