Also, will I be able to contact someone during off hours and weekends if my kid is sick, how do they fit in last minute appointments. It was great meeting in person because it was the best way for me to assess the general vibe, like @Raindrop: said. A lot has to do with personality! Like if you like their personality. Also the same page about things... like vaccinations, like if you want a more loose schedule in doing in or a hard core schedule. A few of my friend switched because they wanted a more mild schedule and their ped keep pushing the standard one which they didn't like. Aka 5 shots at once sometimes instead of 1-2 shots at a time.</p> <p>For us we found someone who was Asian like us but also could speak some Chinese which my mother liked because she sometimes wants to say things but can't really explain in English and it was helpful for him to understand the general meaning of what we said in Chinese.</p> <p>We also looked at office hours and availabilities and asked how many other kids he was seeing which is a variable number so I'm not sure if that matters to you. Do they see un-vaccinated patients?<br /> Feelings on circumcision/breastfeeding/co-sleeping/sleep training/solids<br /> Separate waiting room for sick babies?<br /> How long to wait for a sick-baby appointment?<br /> If she's not available, who will I be seeing?<br /> Was there an LC on staff?<br /> Did they have late/after work/weekend hours?<br /> How many patients do they see?<br /> How much time is allotted for each appointment?<br /> Can I email?<br /> Use of antibiotics for things like ear infections</p> <p>I also looked for a clean office, friendly staff, child-friendly areas, etc. </p> <p>Honestly, though, I didn't get the answers I wanted to some of my questions (for one my office is very...clinical.)
