She's not going to be any less miserable at home than she would at daycare. If she needs to go home, they'll call me and I'll get her. For what it's worth, I also just recently transitioned LO into daycare (part-time), and I took her to the doctor last week for a mild rash. The pediatrician, who has two LOs under 4, said that she was probably the worst "offender" for medicating her mildly under the weather LOs with motrin and sending them to daycare, despite the daycare sick day guidelines (which the ped noted just make no sense in terms of when bugs are actually spread-able). I gave ibuprofen and after a little bit he perked up and ate something. No fever. Of course, after we got to daycare he had a coughing fit and was super clingy to me (more than usual). I guess it's not a big deal if they have to call me to get him, but I feel bad for the little guy. Full time means that he'll be around the germs a bit more. If he's happy enough, I would take him in. </p> <p>I only say doctor because my youngest is ear infection prone. He spent the week with a runny nose and got worse over the weekend. After doing a steam bath, the runny nose didn't stop, so I took him in. My job is very flexible and I mostly work at home.</p> <p>He's had a cold since Sunday. Symptoms are runny nose, coughing, and decreased appetite. Last night he had an elevated temp but not a fever (about 99.5 I think). He went in yesterday and was ok, but today he seems a bit worse. He only ate one bite of breakfast but he drank a bunch of fluids and is happily watching iPad videos.</p> <p>Would you keep him home? </p>
